Sure you could opt for the nearest mini-mart and buy that same candy bar that sated you when you were a child, but let’s face it, if you’re going for chocolate why should you have mass produced when you can have hand-made? With three locations in Rhode Island and the availability of on-line shopping, Sweenor’s Chocolates has the hand-made delicacies you’re looking for. Founded by Walter Sweenor during World War II, the firm opened its first shop in 1955. These days there are three shops: Wakefield, Charlestown and the original shop in Cranston. Sweenor’s is the largest chocolate manufacturer in Rhode Island.
