Mid-Air
Thrills
Even in our modern day world, built on speed and convenience, devices as impractical
as hot air balloons remain exciting. These balloons have neither speed nor convenience,
yet the simple combination of parachutes and hot air has inspired hundreds of festivals,
such as the Sunflower Balloon Fest in Anthony, Kansas, the Village by the Sea Hot
Air Balloon Race in Delray Beach, Florida, the Fiesta Praha in the Czech republic,
and even See Our Children Soar, a benefit event for children with disabilities,
held in Pennsylvania. For more information...

worry! There is good news! Always keep in mind, that by mastering the essentials

Fantastic
Faux Finishing
For most of us, faux finishing conjures up images of painting walls or floors using
sea sponges or rags. But it’s so much more, according to Patti Halstead, one
of the nation’s top surface designers. She uses a wide variety of techniques
and materials to achieve the look of Old World frescoes, fossils, wood, leather,
marble, malachite or whatever else she and her clients fancy.

in our hearts. After all, anniversaries commemorate a commitment, but more than
that, they're about a unique bond between two people. An anniversaries should be
more than a nice but standard dinner and a generous but expected exchange of a tie
and bracelet. So, how do you make your wedding anniversary special? By following

The
Plant of the King's Fragrance - A Look at Orchids
We love things of beauty. There is a basic need after the necessities of survival
to stimulate our senses. We are fascinated by the exotic and mysterious. The orchid
combines our love of beauty and our fascination with the exotic. And yet, we don’t
think of the orchid as exotic. This is the flower that we pinned on our date for
the prom and one that is sold worldwide in flower shops. It is also a flower that
has several species such as Vietnam’s Lady Slipper on the endangered species
list. For more information...
Wrapping
Up the Cigar Boom
At age 98, the infamous cigar aficionado George Burns said, "If I had taken
my doctor’s advice and quit smoking when he advised me to, I wouldn’t
have lived to go to his funeral." While it’s tempting for us to use Mr.
Burns as the poster-child for the anti-anti-smoking movement which is gaining little
ground against anti-smoking legislation in the United States, we would be hard-pressed
to answer why the honor shouldn’t go to Mark Twain, Peter Falk, Sigmund Freud
("Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar") or Rudy Giuliani. As more and more
restaurants find themselves under regulation to prohibit smoking and many of the
cigar bars from the last decade close their doors, it seems that today’s cigar
smoker is a bit lonely. For more information...

popular spot for vacationers who wish to dive, snorkel, fish, golf, ride horses,
