Chef Jerome
The old I-95 New York to Miami route named US Highway 17 still takes the driver
through small towns peppered with Mom and Pop operations, country stores and occasional
southern diners. Although a few of these road side eateries and stands still exist,
most are just memories in from by gone eras now replaced with fast food drive thru’s,
and the land of double-size your order burger joints or so I thought. While actually
driving on this highway, I found that it offers more than expected for the inner-self
epicurean craving the decidedly different and unique in southern style dining. As
you cross the county line separating Liberty County from McIntosh County Georgia
along route 17 south, or take exit 67 from I-95, there you will see a sign for the
landmark, The Tiniest Church in America on the left. Bordering this dollhouse structure
and not far down Harris Neck Road is the Old School Diner owned and operated by
Chef Jerome. For more information...

Newport
Bermuda Race 2006
A Century of Sailing
Seasoned skippers describe the Newport Bermuda Race as the Kentucky Derby of sailing.
"That’s where you will find the thoroughbreds of the sailing world,"
stated Captain Paul Lane, a former racing instructor at the Mass Maritime Academy.
"Those yachts were designed and built to race." The first Bermuda Race
started from Gravesend Bay, New York in 1906. A regular two year racing schedule
emerged twenty years later. The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club hosted the finish and festivities
and incorporated the sponsorship of the Cruising Club of America in 1926. Ten years
later, the starting line was moved to Newport, Rhode Island where it remains the
crown jewel of ocean racing. For more information...
State
Street Barbers

more. State Street Barbers, a new upscale men’s barbershop located at 1313
