The 2019 Jaguar I-PACE
For the first time in World Car Of The Year Awards history, one car has been named victor in three categories. Along with claiming the top prize of World Green Car, the Jaguar I-Pace also won the prestigious World Car Design and World Car Of The Year prizes.
Powered by a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack which drives two electric motors, the new I-Pace makes use of the company’s new skateboard architecture for electric cars. Capable of a 234-mile range, the 4500lb frame can go from zero to 60mph in 4.5 seconds and generates 394hp and 512 lb-ft of torque.
The all-electric car can achieve a 0-80% charge in 85 minutes with a 50 kW DC rapid charger. Driving more like a sedan than an SUV, the car allows for five full seats and cargo space, of 25.3 cubic feet in the trunk and 51 cubic feet with the rear seat down.
The muscular and comfortably conservative design allows the fun driving experience to come front and center and allow drivers to enjoy an exciting pedal response. Along with driver assist features and active cruise control, the sleek center dashboard offers pilots the simplicity of the JaguarDrive which instantly delivers sustainable acceleration from 0 to 12,000 rpm with no lag and no gearshift interruptions.
The Base model starts at an MSRP of $69,500 while also affording new car buyers the opportunity to build their own.
