People with mesomorph body types are truly blessed! They are naturally athletic, build muscle mass without too much effort, and can achieve all their weight training goals in a jiffy. Or, at least, that’s how it seems when you watch from the sides.
While it’s true that mesomorph body types are more athletic by nature, you still have to do the work and put in the effort if you want to get muscle contour and low body fat.
However, it’s also true that you can (and you should) reward your discipline from time to time. Of course, you can’t go extreme, especially if you’re well past your 20s.
So if you’re looking for healthy ways to splurge as a mesomorph, here are a few ideas:
1. Cheat Day(s)
If The Rock does it, why can’t you? Cheat days are famous among bodybuilders and fitness buffs because it allows them a break from a strict diet.
Now, if you are on a mesomorph diet, you’re probably carefully watching your carb, protein, and fat intake so you can’t wreak havoc in the sweets aisle every time you feel like it.
Luckily, if you are healthy and true to your diet, a cheat day can help those cravings in check. As expected, nutritionists and fitness specialists are still debating the overall benefits of a cheat day, but as long as you don’t go overboard, you should be able to splurge once in a while.
2. Enjoy a Free Day with your Partner
We are so busy and so preoccupied with success and goals that we often forget to be supportive and loving partners. However, studies show that love, physical intimacy, and time spent with your significant other are extremely important for your health (both mental and physical).
So, even if you have to skip a day at the gym, make room for your partner in your schedule. Spend the day fooling around, talking, and enjoying good food.
3. Time with Yourself
This one doesn’t take long – around 15 to 20 minutes per day (or so). Some call it meditation, but more often than not, it’s a bit of time to be with your thoughts and get your ducks in a row.
We tend to run away from our thoughts and bury ourselves in work, entertainment, or gym, but this has negative effects on our overall health since it leads to stress buildup.

A spa day is always welcome, but a luxury spa is a splurge that can recharge your energy supplies and put you in a good mood for weeks to come. Plus, you can share this with friends or your significant other and kill two birds with one stone – time with your partner and leisure in a luxurious facility.
5. Sleep In
You don’t have to be up and running at 6 am every day. When you feel tired or getting up in the morning becomes more difficult than normal, give yourself a break and sleep in. It can be the weekend if that’s what you prefer, but it’s not a rule set in stone.
Give your mind and body a break by cozying up in bed (even if you don’t really sleep) and take in the goodness of a late morning!
You work hard to keep your body in shape, keep your family happy, and be successful in your career. Still, in order to maintain the same level of activity, it’s important to splurge yourself from time to time.
So take a break, enjoy some delicious food (even if it’s not super-healthy) and appreciate the good things in life!
