5* LUXURY AT THE GRAND HOTEL, EASTBOURNE
The Grand Hotel is located on the King Edwards Parade, Eastbourne on the South coast of England. Warmly known as ‘The White Palace’, this beautiful 5* hotel has unrivalled sea views, and is just a stones throw from the beach. What’s more, the grounds boast ornamental gardens, tennis courts and an outdoor pool to add to the luxury of this establishment.
Built in the 1875 The Grand Hotel is well loved, not just in the local area but further afield too, with special guests including the likes of Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Arthur Conan Doyle and King Constantine of Greece.
For a little background history, The Grand Hotel was built at a time where the upper classes ruled England and their preference was to take their holidays by the sea, often for extended stays for months at a time. The hotel is also well known for its close association with music, and Debussy even completed his symphony ‘La Mer’ in Suite 200 in 1905.
In 1998 Elite Hotels, who are known for conserving country houses of outstanding character and heritage by turning them into luxury hotels, did exactly that to The Grand and a complete refurbishment took place. All 152 rooms have been restored to their true former glory, but are combined with hints of the contemporary to make your stay the best it can be.
With such a long and rich heritage in the luxury sector, it is no wonder then that The Grand Hotel goes above and beyond to create the most pleasant and memorable experiences for its guests. The hotel, which prides itself on giving the very best service, certainly doesn’t disappoint with welcoming and gracious staff there to help from your arrival to your departure.
