Banyan Tree Group has launched its first property in Europe called Angsana Corfu Resort & Spa while the location could not have been chosen better with the hilltop estate in Corfu’s Akra Punta bay being the canvas for this property. This luxury resort and spa have a collection of 159 guest rooms, suites, and 37 one to four-bedroom pool villas. The villas evoke a feeling of a private Corfu home with outdoor pavilions, terracotta rooftops, and private pools.
With such a location, Angsana Corfu gives 360-degree views of the turquoise waters of Benitses Bay while you are surrounded by lush green, mountainous landscapes, Mediterranean gardens, and olive tree groves. While there you can also check out the historic Achilleion Palace which is in close vicinity to the resort. Guests also have the option to book a range of day trip excursions to local sites on the island including the Achilleion Palace, Korission Lake’s unspoiled, protected land, The Governor’s Olive Oil Press, Bioporos Organic Farm, and Nikolaos Mantzaros Museum of Music. Angsana Corfu also has a spa with 11 treatment rooms overlooking the bay, a 25m indoor pool area, and a Juice Bar. Other amenities include an outdoor infinity pool, a second indoor heated pool, water sport activities, an outdoor yoga pavilion, and a gym with the option of curated personal fitness regimes.
Ample culinary experiences are there with 10 food and beverage venues including four restaurants and seven bars with outdoor terraces overlooking the Corfu countryside and the sea views of course. You can try Botrini’s, a Greek fine-dining destination with a Michelin-starred Chef Ettore Botrini at its helm, or Koh, an Asian fusion restaurant. There is also Ruen Romsai, an all-day restaurant, serving international cuisine, and Sofrito, a tavern with a wide selection of Corfiot & Greek flavors. Guests can also opt for room service or one of Banyan Tree’s private destination dining experiences – from a chef-curated mountaintop picnic to a beach barbecue.
For travelers in the “new normal”, safety and sanitization measures are also taken of course with a “Safe Sanctuary protocol” strictly implemented onsite.
