Some of the world’s finest chocolates will soon be available in Miami when Beacon Hill Chocolates opens a satellite boutique in Miami’s MiMo district. Slated to open in early October, Beacon Hill Chocolates’ newest boutique offers patrons the finest and rarest confections from chocolate masters around the world.
Specializing in small-batch handcrafted chocolates from Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, and the United States, Beacon Hill Chocolates’ Miami location will feature more than 100 confectionary varieties. Signature pieces include Caramel Sushi. A confection rolled to look like a sushi piece and filled with caramel and marshmallow swirled together in perfect harmony and dipped in dark chocolate—chopsticks are optional. The Beacon Hill Signature Chocolate is the perfect bite—72 percent single-origin Venezuelan dark chocolate ganache tucked inside a dark chocolate shell. Other exclusive pieces include Martini Truffle, Olive Oil and Sea Salt, Cashew Crunch, Raspberry Dessert Cup, and Gran Marnier Dessert Cup.
Owner and chocolatier Paula Barth fell in love with fine chocolate while procuring rare and distinctive foods for chefs, artisan food boutiques, and creative caterers. “I love the world of chocolate—the people who create it, the process and the techniques of chocolate making—from choosing the right bean and processing it to how flavors and fragrances are blended to the molding, filling and painting,” she says.
Beacon Hill Chocolates also works with bean-to-bar chocolatiers throughout the United States and sources cacao beans from single origins for their exclusive flavors and attributes to deliver an exceptional chocolate experience. There are no artificial flavors or preservatives in any of the confections.
In addition to chocolates, customers can indulge in Italian gelato and sorbetto—made locally—and artisanal nuts in imaginative and enticing flavor variations, including cinnamon and vanilla; cayenne mango; banana, rum, and vanilla; and key lime ginger.
Beacon Hill Chocolates’ one-of-a-kind handmade collectible keepsake gift boxes are well-known in the Northeast and helped distinguish the company from other local area chocolatiers. Created in the traditional craft of decoupage, the gift boxes are made from rare lithographs, old postcards, photographs, and illustrations. Miami will start its own tradition of keepsake boxes featuring vintage Miami images.
“I was confident that the chocolates would be well received; however, my challenge was to create unique packaging that would be beautiful and cherished as a keepsake. Our shop has become a gallery of artistic chocolates, as well as beautiful images of every sentiment imaginable decoupaged onto our keepsake boxes,” says Barth.
Each box can be personalized with names, dates, or phrases available in a variety of sizes and is filled with an assortment of artisan chocolates. The boxes are wonderful for corporate gifts, wedding favors, graduation gifts, and personal gift-giving.
