Celebrity, couture designer Esé Azénabor wowed the crowd at her Second Annual “Objet D’Art” fashion show on November 1, 2018. The sold out crowd were the first to catch a glimpse of her new Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The historic, art deco building, provided the perfect venue to compliment her artistic interpretation of daring, and luxurious designs for today’s woman.
Well-known for her opulent pieces, the Nigerian born designer revealed individual works of art that were befitting of her show entitled “Objet D’Art.” The inspiration behind this breathtaking collection, that took three years to complete, is from the intricate designs Azénabor witnessed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral during her 2015 NYC Fashion Week debut.
Her fascination with the stunning stained glass windows and various geometrical shapes are a reoccurring element throughout her collection and is represented through intricate beading, embroidery, and the combination of different textures. All of the garments are hand sewn with custom fabrics created in the Esé Azénabor Atelier based in Dallas, TX.
One of the designer’s long term visions is not only to empower women through her designs but through supporting her local community and this year’s showcase was no different. Esé Azénabor’s proudly partnered with a local charity, Action With Compassion Dallas, Inc. a non-profit which combats domestic violence. Aspiring to leave her guests with a deeper message, she not only wanted to show a stunning collection but to demonstrate women empowerment through fashion. Her celebrity models came in all shapes, colors, sizes and included over 40 powerful influencers to walk the runway. Among those were: Pat Smith, Tammy Franklin, Kim Olusanya, Jenna Jenovich, LeeAnne Locken, Rebekah Finley, Sabrina Harrison, Courtney Ajinça, Sherice Brown, Anita Hawkins, Yasmeen Tadia, Annia Jenkins, Kristin Smith, Donna Richardson, Rhonda Sargent Chambers, Gina Ginsburg, DeDe Mcguire, Dawn Neufeld, JoJo Herda, Carinthia Kishaba, Yana Greenstein, Carmen Hancock, Stephene Tolocko, Whitney Kutch, Yodit Tewolde, Danyel Surrency Jones, Naila Malik, Kimberly Aston, Lindsey Lee McCain, Norah D.
