‘Frontier importers and exporters of particular and peculiar eccentricities, curiosities and antiquities,’ says The Trading House’s website and it certainly a cabinet of curiosities in itself. Offering classic dishes and spice-infused cocktails, this is the new eatery in East London.

Located on Gresham Street in East London in the former Bank of New Zealand, the beautiful grade II-listed building has been newly transformed into an ambient lit restaurant come bar, in the style of a Victorian colonial trading house.

The Trading House Cocktail & Kebab

The food inspired by the deli, rotisserie and BBQ, has something delicious for everyone, from mini sausages with a honey and mustard dip to their chorizo pie, the food is excellent. Their sell-out Turkish-inspired kebabs are a must-have (undoubtedly the best I’ve ever tasted, thank you to the Manager, Maria for the recommendation) as are their spice-twist cocktails, such as the powerful Cardamom Old Fashioned and the ultra-refreshing Caraway & Mint Daiquiri.

All in all, The Trading House is worth the journey wherever you are!
