The Vanquish remains of the greatest Aston Martins ever made and not considerably without the efforts of a certain well-known secret spy driving that car. The previous Vanquish was a gorgeous GT embedded with the same values that Aston Martin is well known for but now the carmaker has again brought this moniker back. Meet the new Vanquish which is leaner, and meaner along with having the highest top speed ever from an Aston Martin. Yet, what is surprising is that the Aston Martin has not yet resorted to hybridization for powering its most glamorous car. The Vanquish is still powered by a new V12 engine sans electrification and it slots above the DB12 in terms of its brute power plus luxury. It is the flagship Aston Martin and that is where they have turned the volume right up.

The new V12 now develops 825PS and 1000Nm while the top speed of 215mph makes it a seriously fast GT. 0-60 mph is dismissed in a scant 3.3 seconds too while having an arsenal with Bilstein DTX dampers, Electronic Rear Differential (e-diff), and AML-specific 21-inch Pirelli P ZERO tires. An 8-speed automatic is standard while the structure has been stiffened yet still maintains the GT ethos. Aston Martin maintains that it has not been built for the racetrack but that does not mean that it is a loose cannon as these changes plus a raft of technology on offer make it a sharp-edged tourer.

The new Vanquish is also a gorgeous machine as ever with a distinct silhouette marked by the traditional front-engined canvas. The styling cues are like the DB12 but with voluptuous haunches. The large grille is reminiscent of the older Vanquish but now it is lower-slung. Aston Martin has given it a wider track while details like the Kamm tail, flush door handles, and prominent character lines dictate its visual muscle. It is a beautiful car while arguably being more pretty than the DBS or the Vanquish with less of a bulky appearance this time around. The cabin meanwhile is a strict two-seater but has a more luxurious GT look. The cabin architecture is like the new Aston Martin cars with the new infotainment system plus redesigned controls. There is more modernity lurking around here but there are enough physical controls. Also on offer is a glass roof with a special tint that keeps the sun away alongside a special cabin with a bespoke feel.

Not more than 1000 examples would be built per year in order to keep the V12 exclusive and it will battle with the likes of the Ferrari 12 Cilindri and the Bentley Continental GT while being built in lesser numbers. Prices would be north of $400,000 while the first cars would come to the US market by next year. The Vanquish then is an old-school GT with a new-age wizardry sprinkled on liberally.
