Everyone is excited about the new C8 Corvette. It’s the first mid-engine sports car to roll off Chevy’s assembly line, an upgrade nearly six decades in the making. If you’re looking to add a new Corvette to your collection, you could do worse than the C8. Half the fun of bringing home a new car is customizing it before you drive it off the lot. What are your options for the C8 Corvette? Let’s break it down by the options available on Chevrolet’s website.

Body Style

Your first option on Chevy’s website is choosing your body style. The C8 gives you two choices — a classic coupe or a Targa-top convertible with a removable roof that stows in the trunk. The convertible looks impressive, but it will add a whopping $7,500 to your price tag. It is a little heavier than the coupe, but not by much. Chevy opted for composite materials and electric motors, so it only adds about 80 pounds to the overall curb weight.

Exterior Colors and Accents

Next, we get to play with the exterior color, where you can make the C8 truly yours. You’ve got twelve exterior colors to choose from, including:

• Black
• Arctic white
• Blade silver metallic
• Ceramic matrix gray metallic
• Shadow gray metallic
• Elkhart lake blue metallic
• Zeus bronze metallic
• Long Beach red metallic tint coat
• Torch red
• Sebring orange tint coat
• Accelerate yellow
• Rapid blue

You can also choose your roof accents, depending on which body style you opted for. Coupes have the option for a plain body-color roof, a transparent one, or one with visible carbon fiber. Convertibles get the body-color roof, in addition to carbon flashing — either full or only on the nacelles.

Performance/Wheels

Right now, if you want some performance, your only option is the Z51 performance package, but as popular as the C8 is promising to be, it won’t be the only choice for long. Expect to see Z06 and ZR1 options in the future, as well as a hybrid model for those concerned about their fuel economy.

Chevy offers six wheels in various shades of silver, gray, and black. You can also choose from four different caliper colors — black, yellow, edge red, and bright red — depending on your preferences.

Trim Levels

The C8 gives you three different options for trim levels — 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. 1LT is your base model, but it still has plenty of bells and whistles so that you won’t be disappointed. You’ll have access to everything from push-button start to a gorgeous 12-inch digital gauge cluster. You are limited to the base interior colors — red, gray, and black — but you can make some pretty striking combinations with the available exterior colors.

The next step up is the 2LT, which gives you 12 interior colors as well as additional interior upgrades and driver assistance technology. The 3LT model gives you the best number of color combinations and adds other features, like seats made from Napa leather with carbon fiber trim.

Interior Colors

Customizing the exterior is fun, but you’re not going to be sitting out there, so now we move on to the interior customization options. There are nine interior color choices, including:

• Jet black
• Jet black with yellow stitching
• Jet black with red stitching
• Adrenaline red
• Sky cool gray
• Natural dipped
• Natural
• Morello red
• Two-tone blue

You can also opt for custom interior colorations and a carbon-fiber trim package. They all look fantastic, and it’s nearly impossible to create a clashing combination.

Seats

Finally, we get to the seats. There are plenty of options for you to choose from. First, pick the seat type — GT1, GT2, or competition. Next, select your material. Again, you have three choices — leather, suede, or performance. You can also choose two-tone seats that use a combination of materials.

Your last option is a surprising one — seat belt color. Choose from black, yellow, red, blue, orange, or the classic natural beige. We’d probably opt for black so that we don’t have something garish breaking up the sleek interior of this gorgeous supercar.

What Does Your C8 Look Like?

With all these customizations, no two Corvettes will look alike. We’d probably opt for the convertible with the 2LT trim package in Zeus Bronze Metallic and a jet black interior. With so many customizations available for the C8, it’s easy to jack up the price tag into the six-digit range — but it might not be worth all the bells and whistles.
