The founding stones of the collaboration were laid with celebrating Maserati’s Centennial anniversary in 2014. Maserati launched only 100 units of the Maserati Quattroporte which had Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition designed interiors. To ensure a complete premium experience new and innovative and sophisticated silk used, called Mulberry, with a thickness of 10 microns, weaved in a 6-strand manner for the seats and 4-strand manner for the jersey used to line the roof, door panels gave the car exclusivity and a taste of Italian excellence. To give the collaboration a more holistic approach Zegna created a special Summer Spring Capsule Collection inspired by the Owner’s Collection of the highest level of performance including footwear and outerwear.

The Geneva International Motor Show has been a legendary show since 1905 for the upcoming innovations and researches in the automobile industry. Known as the convention of the world’s most aspired and revolutionary vehicles, Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna showcased the limited-edition trim package on all Maserati Quattroporte, Ghibli and Levante models at the convention. Redefining luxury, style, and enigma, Zegna’s master craftsmen created a pure silk fabric with an extremely high visual impact for the cockpit and seats of the cars. The incredibly soft feel paired with an elegantly technical look represented the dynamic and contemporary feel of Maserati’s most iconic models.
The Zegna Maserati SS Capsule Collection 16 included a variety of accessories embellished with the Maserati trident individualized by the distinctively patterned silk and fine calf leathers. The collection also included scarves, fine leather goods, exclusive foldable sunglasses, and special-edition sneakers perfect for anyone who wants to travel in luxury.
When Alessandro Sartori was appointed as the Artistic Director taking creative control over all Zegna’s brand, he designed the SS Capsule Collection 2017 with luxury leather goods and accessories taking the experience of luxury and excellence with efficiency to new heights. “Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati” label strengthened the brand’s partnership further. With a refined mixture of premium leather, fine silk and cotton fabrics with the iconic chevron pattern and a dedicated the collection this was the point where the world saw Italian expertise, excellence, and partnership.
Ermenegildo Zegna is the world’s largest wool producing company. With over several wool mills across Europe, Zegna is also encouraging towards discovering a newer blend of materials and ways to make them more durable. To make the experience of a Maserati reach heights known beyond, Ermenegildo Zegna wool mill developed a brand-new silk fabric. The “Chevron” silk featured a heightened soft feel and new beige color which was used for the Maserati special Levante’s cockpit for the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show. The special Levante redefined the SUV experience for its customers.
In 2017, the Zegna Group acquired controlling shares of Pelle Tessuta, which specializes in woven leather. Researching with different possibilities of materials, Ermenegildo Zegna’s team innovated a new material to change the entire ball game. After two successful innovations, Zegna aimed to create an innovative and lightweight leather fabric which would be extremely versatile and soft, result, the PELLETESSUTA™. PELLETESSUTA™ is a special woven Nappa leather, a combination of advanced technologies and century-old traditions. The Maserati Quattroporte S Q4 GranLusso and Maserati Levante S Q4 GranSport came with PELLETESSUTA™ interiors conceptualized by Ermenegildo Zegna, at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show as an example of an absolute luxury automobile. In the collection that followed the car, the launch had accessories and apparels of distinguished style and status. The brand offered travel clothing like t-shirts, coats, and sweatshirts, and accessories included duffel bags, caps, belts, and gloves. The suede Maserati sneakers are sporty yet very stylish.
