The future of the automobile industry is shifting to alternate energy resources while maintaining a luxury quotient and performance levels. Getting on the hybrid engine bandwagon, French automotive manufacturer Peugeot, has launched the New 308 – a combination of an attractive new design, premium interior with class-leading technology, and safety in the compact family car segment. The new 308 is the first car to get a plug-in hybrid engine along with petrol and diesel powertrains. The brand plans to go on sale in the European markets in late 2021.

The new 308 is equipped with the latest-generation driving aids and the PEUGEOT I-Cockpit with 3D technology, plus I-Connect Advanced, an infotainment system that is intuitive to use and always keeps you connected. The interior of the new 308 also offers more space and comfort, while carefully chosen materials emphasize the high-quality finish. Efficiency and performance are also enhanced with the latest aerodynamic details. Not just this, Peugeot has said that by 2025 it will offer an electrified variant of the same model.

Speaking about the new 308, Julie David, Managing Director of Peugeot UK, has said: “The compact family car class remains one of the most important and competitive segments – and one in which PEUGEOT has a proud record of success. It is therefore very exciting to be launching the new 308, which is one of the most efficient, practical, and technologically advanced offerings in the market.” “With the addition of plug-in hybrid powertrains for the first time, the new 308 represents another significant step in our commitment to having an electrified variant of every new PEUGEOT model by 2025,” he further added. Adding to it, the Peugeot 308 will be the first model to feature the brand’s new logo, a roaring lion’s head. The model will have a wide range of colors to choose from, like Olivine Green, Bianca White, Cumulus Grey, Nera Black, Pearlescent White, Vertigo Blue, and Elixir Red.

For those looking for an attractive style, the new PEUGEOT 308 continues its commitment to a striking design. The car is based on an evolution of PEUGEOT’s innovative and adaptable EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) structure. Hence, it is more robust, safer, and more spacious than ever. It also allows the option of electrified powertrains for the first time, while new structural elements deliver even greater efficiency, driving pleasure, and comfort. The premium hatch rides on a 55 mm longer wheelbase and has a reduced height of 20 mm. It features new LED headlamps with vertically stacked LED DRLs. The car also features Peugeot Matrix LED technology offered on GT and GT premium variants. Upfront is a wide grille, wider air-dams, and a new bumper with fog lamps and reverse lights.

The time where safety is most important, the 2021 Peugeot 308 comes with numerous safety and driver assistance features, such as Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, 180-degree reversing camera with integrated cleaning nozzle, 360 degrees surround-view parking assistance with four cameras, heating for the windscreen and steering wheel, E-call+ emergency call with passenger number information and location, etc. It also gets adaptive cruise control with a start/stops feature, automatic emergency braking, active lane-keeping assistance, driver attention alert, automatic high beam, traffic sign recognition, electronic parking brake, etc.

To support its customers in the transition from internal combustion to electric energy, PEUGEOT offers a range of services.
