The Celestiq rivals the equally glamorous Rolls-Royce Spectre, but there are specific character traits that set the most expensive Cadillac apart from its rivals. In the rarefied luxury automotive space, the Celestiq is a bold offering and indulges everyone in visual shock and awe when eyes are clapped on it. The massive length puts an Escalade to shame, but the fastback proportions are truly eye-popping while being layered with many intriguing details. The sheer length is like the Eldorado and represents the in-your-face styling that harks back to that era. The massive grille and the front-end being festooned with lights do take away the attention from the aerodynamic side profile, while the fastback profile again makes you drop your jaws. Then the fact that there are no exterior door handles, and instead, you can operate them with the press of a button.

At $340,000, no two cars would be similar, and there is scope for bespoke customisations too. Via a concierge, customers can choose any color, finish, or anything they wish, although lurid colours do take away some of the stately flavor of the car. The interior is vast, but it does mollycoddle you with technology thanks to the 55-inch-diagonal advanced HD display, all-around camera, Google built in, and screens everywhere, including for the all-important rear passengers.

Some of the other gizmos include no less than 42 speakers, including four exterior speakers custom-tuned by professional audio engineers, plus a fixed glass roof with customizable light and even a four-zone climate control technology. The seating is a bit sportier, and while space is massive, it is not as huge as something like a Lexus LM van. That said, the materials are sumptuous, with attention to detail being poured here, as you would expect. There is not a mammoth V12 nestling beneath its long bonnet but a pair of electric motors developing 655 horsepower, which is not eyebrow-raising anymore. However, the 111-kWh battery should promise more than 300 miles, enough for mooching around Beverly Hills.

Then there are air springs, Active rollbars, and rear axle steering, which further hide its girth. The Celestiq is different and intriguing while carving its own way in this luxury segment. It is the most customizable Cadillac, looks amazing, has the decadent interior that you want, and despite its lofty $340,000 price, it’s somehow a much better try at a Rolls-Royce rival than you think.
