Expanding their national and global reach while celebrating their coming of age, Heather James Fine Art offers of noteworthy 19th-century, modern and contemporary art sees them maintaining the ranks of a reputable fine arts company.

Two new gallery openings will take place in San Francisco and Santa Barbara, forming the gallery’s fourth and fifth spaces, joining Palm Springs, Jackson Hole, Wyoming and New York in prime locations.

Celebrating 20 years in 2017 with special exhibitions of Alexander Calder and leading Latin American artists, another milestone was the opening of their new private gallery in New York City. Working tirelessly to bring exceptional art to museums nationally and internationally through loans and acquisitions, Heather James Fine Art has ensured the best for 2018.

On loan from Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads will be on display until December 30, 2018 at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine. Featuring twelve animal symbols from the traditional Chinese zodiac, Weiwei’s sculpture installation re-envisions the ornate fountain clock. Weiwei touches on issues of looting, repatriation and cultural heritage and this will be his first presentation in Maine.

A few major exhibitions will be held at the popular Palm Desert location, including Louise Bourgeois Holograms. Created in 1998 to 2004, this suite of eight holograms projected as one piece by the artist, contains imagery that includes a pair of lovers, chairs and a bell jar. The holographic image is created by using laser beams to record the light field reflected from an object and then burning that image onto a plate of glass and scaling it at a one-to-one resemblance of the original material.

Paintings by N.C. Wyeth and his progenies Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, Art of the Wyeth Family spans three generations. Herb Alpert: A Visual Melody, consists of abstract mixed-media paintings from the early 1990’s to 2017 with large and small-scale bronze sculptures made in the same time-frame. Captivating audiences with his expressive use of various media highlighting movement and form, translating art into a lyrical and haunting experience.

At Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Andy Warhol’s Cowboys and Indians can be seen. Featuring the full set of ten screen prints created by Warhol in 1986, portraits of well-known American ‘heroes’ Annie Oakley and Teddy Roosevelt are combined with Native American images and motifs that include kachina dolls, forming an iconic commentary on Americans’ communal mythologizing of the historic West.
