Luxury champagne brand De Watère completes a decade

Champagnes hold a special place in the hearts of the spirit connoisseurs. And this year holds a special place for the French handmade luxury champagne brand De Watère. Founded in 2011 by Martin A. Konorza, De Watère completes a decade this year. The luxury champagnes produced by the brand include the Cuvée Premier Cru Brut Rosé de Saignée, the Cuvée Premier Cru Brut Blanc and the TEN21 jubilee edition which set new standards in the Champagne industry.

All the champagnes are produced from Premier Cru sites in the Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, France, whereas De Watère GmbH, located in Munich, Germany, takes care of the international distribution. It produces Premier Cru Champagnes using original, all-natural viticulture methods, from employing horses in the vineyard instead of tractors to avoid emissions to applying the labels by hand. The Premier Cru vineyards offer perfect conditions for growing superb grapes: the semi-continental climate in the region is not only characterized by low annual rainfall but also a high number of sunshine hours. This allows the grapes to reach their ideal level of ripeness, enhancing the freshness and finesse of De Watère’s luxurious Champagnes.

The same original methods were employed in the production of Champagne over 200 years ago are used again in the production of De Watère Champagnes today. The work is carried out by hand wherever possible, and the grapes are exclusively hand-picked, and the vineyards plowed by horses. This process is gentler on the sensitive soil and avoids the emission of pollutants, as it not only benefits the environment but also maintains the quality and purity of the grapes.

For its 10-year anniversary, De Watère has introduced TEN21 – the next step of this internationally acclaimed luxury champagne brand. With its approachable, fun, and balanced character, this Premier Cru composition of 50 percent Chardonnay and 50 percent Pinot Noir appeals to Champagne novices and seasoned connoisseurs alike.

“I brought everything I have learned over a decade in the luxury industry to this cuvée and its design,” says a proud and excited Konorza. “We truly have created something totally new. On the one hand, we succeeded in expressing the high quality of De Watère in a whole new taste aspect. On the other hand, the design of the bottles is ahead of the curve: TEN21 is the first Champagne ever featuring Augmented Reality.”

De Watère brings Theodore the Gryphon to reality.

De Watère, for its 10th anniversary, has innovated Augmented Reality technology wherein it has brought Theodore the Gryphon to life. The Gryphon has come alive for the first time, and it will enter into direct contact with its customers.

Statistically, TEN21 is the first Champagne ever to offer such Augmented Reality features. “We see AR as one of the most interesting channels to enter into a whole new kind of dialogue with our customers in the medium term. The possibilities are endless! They’re only being limited by current technology”, says Konorza, founder and Président of De Watère. To meet Theodore, one scans the QR code featured on every bottle, downloads the free App, and scans the bottle with it.

De Watère ancestoral history

The name De Watère and its symbol, the proud Gryphon Theodore, are intended as a tribute to Konorza’s French ancestors. The family’s roots date back even further than champagne itself: the first ancestor on record by the name of “De Watère” was a Frenchman who was given a mention in the Doomsday Book in England in 1086. The secret behind the success of this relatively young brand: Champagne De Watère combines traditional production methods with unique product design and modern marketing, which equally appeals to the seasoned connoisseur and the champagne novice. Champagne bearing the proud Gryphon is grown and bottled in the Vallée de la Marne, France.

De Watère’s attention to detail is unparalleled in the champagne segment. The company’s important and guiding principle is its superior quality which it never compromises with. With an emphasis on the precise traditional methods, De Watère creates inimitable Champagnes worthy of the Gryphon.

So for its 10th anniversary, be a part of the De Watère family and order your worthy champagnes now.
