Oceanco’s 295 feet Superyacht Project Shark

Early this year, Oceanco delivered its 295-foot superyacht Y717—Project Shark which has a top speed of 20 knots and beam of 47-feet. Dutch shipyard Oceanco combined with Miami-based DeBasto Design for its exterior design and Venice studio Nuvolari Lenard, for its interior. The sleek exterior and nature-inspired interior received the nickname Project Shark due to an aerial view of the yacht above looking like a hammerhead shark.

Thanks to its use of the latest in glass technology, the yacht is Netherland’s first yacht to receive notation and designation of Lloyd’s Register Integrated Bridge System (IBS). The use of glass on the exterior of Project Shark grants floor-to-ceiling views when looking out aft, port, and starboard.

Project Shark has 12 staterooms, including the owner’s apartment, which takes over the upper deck. To ensure complete privacy, the upper deck does not include walkaround passages and is solely for the owners. The owner’s apartment features a private, covered alfresco dining area, forward- facing Jacuzzi as well as terraces off each side.

In the interior, Lenard used fine fabrics, wallpaper, 3D lacquer and lots of upholstery to create a delicate and sophisticated palate. With the theme of the interior being nature and staying away from dark woods, Lenard instead used bleached-gray maple, different shades of sycamore fiddleback, and tinted Brazilian Carballo-wood details.
