Created to honor Queen Elizabeth II, Royal Suite is a blended Scotch whiskey brand created originally on her Coronation Day in 1953. Drawing whiskeys from a range of distilleries, the brand just launched one of its most exclusive whiskeys to date, a single cask release that’s 52 years of age. With an RRP of 30,000 to international markets, the new Royal Salute 52-Year-Old Single Cask Finish, distribution is limited to a release of just 106 bottles worldwide.

All the whiskeys blended were brought together in the final 14 years in a single cask finish, with each having a minimum of 21 years – at the young end of the whiskeys blended was one dated back to 1967. “The delicate balance of some of the rarest of our whiskeys, has created an unrivaled depth of flavor and unbelievably complex characteristic, making for a remarkable expression that perfectly shows that time is a key element of our creations,” said Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop.

The first in the brand’s new Time Series, the whiskey is housed in an individually engraved hand-blown Dartington crystal decanter within a Time Series box with five different layers of wood. With a fruity nose of ripe plum, toffee red apples, and dark chocolate-covered hazelnuts, on the palate, the lucky few will get a “sweet orange marmalade with a hint of ginger and scented cloves with soft ripe pears in syrup and a touch of licorice.”
