Inspired by innovation, art, wellness, sustainability, and natural beauty, the hotel was designed by BAMO in collaboration with RYS Architects. Along with an underlying commitment to wellness and sustainability (more on that later), the hotel was thoughtfully built from the ground up offering approachable sophistication. Along with the features mentioned above, the property features an extensive art gallery, a library, meeting and event spaces, and offers direct access to hiking trails. The open lobby and common spaces feature a polished concrete floor and purposefully unfinished ceilings layered with ceiling clouds. Along with slender panels of rough and raw recycled wood which are hung at different heights throughout the lobby level, various askew and textured walls and a live-edge coffee table from Guadalajara welcome guests.

Their guestrooms range from 310 sq. ft. to 955 sq. ft. and were designed with comfort in mind, exuding a West Coast casual vibe with punches of California poppy orange incorporated into the design. All accommodations feature floor-to-ceiling windows, and handcrafted blue fireclay tile featured in the bathrooms, while the design of the custom desks is inspired by an airplane wing. Enjoy some extra quiet space for yourself in the Ameswell Suite, their most spacious accommodation offering a private King bedroom, a separate living room with a pull-out sofa, and two full baths.

Three restaurants are located on the property, which cater to every craving and dietary need. Roger is the hotel’s main restaurant and features seasonal California cuisine married with Mediterranean flavors. Sit inside, on the patio, or along the oversized wing-shaped bar and enjoy local and regional ingredients through partnerships with local farms, ranches, and dairies, including The Midwife and The Baker’s bread, Mary’s Chicken and Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program. Choose from 16 tapped beverage selections from the bar-forward restaurant along with menu highlights like the Crispy Maitake Mushrooms with a charred sour cream and onion dip and Chicken Schnitzel with a seeded crust, along with perfectly crisp Salt Roasted Fries. The Flyby is a fast-casual café that offers a wide selection of grab-and-go snacks and meals with artisan coffee by La Colombe and specialty drinks, while the Airstream Bar is a vintage, customized Airstream from the 1960s offering craft cocktail, beer, and wine options by the pool, the fire pits or on the lawn. The Ameswell is also the first hotel to showcase Bear Robotic’s Servi, a self-driving indoor delivery robot at Roger, with two bots named Wall-E and Eve. Furthermore, guests can order and pay for their food with the ease of their mobile phones.

At The Ameswell, wellness and health mean mind, body, and soul and this starts with their Wellness Wing that features private spa treatment rooms, guestrooms with The Mirror, and access to a 1,600 square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center. Adjacent to the fitness center, the heated saltwater swimming pool invites all for a dip while the expansive event lawn features fire pits, lawn games, and room for outdoor activities. Take a fresh deep breath thanks to continuously circulated with a Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS), which runs 24/7, before scheduling a service or yoga class at REJUV Wellness.

As the greenest hotel in Silicon Valley, the hotel’s dedication to sustainability can be found throughout the property. They have been able to achieve such through their solar panels which power their LED bulbs, biodegradable or reusable containers at all restaurants, 100% organic bath amenities by Juice Beauty, which are also available to purchase at the front desk, electric car charging stations, partnerships with farmers/ranchers to present guests with locally sourced and organic produce and almost no single-use plastic. Its expansive lawn, which plays host to a full range of programming is also covered in life-like AstroTurf, eliminating the need for excessive watering.
