Art takes place in many forms and one such artist is Johnathan Schultz, who is known for fusing art, precious metals, and diamonds into pieces of artwork. Schultz will headline Le Art Noir, Diversity in a Color exhibition, which took place during this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, from December 2 to 5. Schultz’s latest art exhibition, “Out of the Darkness” featured and revisited world leaders like Nelson Mandela for inspiration. It also featured artifacts from Robben Island, South Africa, where Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years of imprisonment. Le Art Noir, Diversity in Color is Schultz’s first exhibition in the United States and culminates with a global auction to support Hennessy’s Unfinished Business charity. An exclusive, $150,000 multi-layered gold basketball piece was donated at the VIP Kick-Off Reception. The “Out of the Darkness” collection featured artwork that integrates precious metals and diamonds including the “Left and Right Hand of Freedom” art piece which showcased Nelson Mandela’s real handprints.
