As Audi enters a defining chapter in its evolution, the German marque has appointed Rouven Mohr as Chief Technical Officer and Member of the Board of Management, effective March 1, 2026. The move arrives at a pivotal moment for the brand, as Technical Development becomes central to its ambitions—guiding the transition toward electrification, software-defined vehicles, and increasingly AI-driven engineering, a direction already hinted at in projects like Audi’s Concept C electric sports luxury vision.

Mohr returns to Audi with 18 years of experience within the Volkswagen Group and a reputation for navigating complex transformation projects with discipline and precision. Most recently, he served as Chief Technical Officer at Lamborghini, where he oversaw the Italian marque’s hybridization strategy and helped guide a generational shift across its performance portfolio. Earlier roles across both Audi and Lamborghini placed him at the intersection of vehicle development, verification, and fleet emissions—experience that has shaped his reputation as a meticulous, product-driven engineer.

“Rouven Mohr joins us as a distinguished technology expert who combines in-depth know-how with a clear focus on long-term value creation for Audi,” said Manfred Döss, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Audi AG. “On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to warmly thank Geoffrey Bouquot for his important and valuable contribution to Audi’s technological transformation.”

Mohr succeeds Geoffrey Bouquot, who departs after two years during which he revitalized Audi’s research and development culture while strengthening cross-functional collaboration. Bouquot also played a significant role in advancing software development capabilities across the Volkswagen Group—laying important groundwork for software-defined vehicles and AI-enabled engineering platforms.

For Audi’s workforce, the leadership transition signals continuity as much as change. “Technical Development is at the heart of the Audi brand,” noted Jörg Schlagbauer, Chairman of the General Works Council of Audi AG. “Geoffrey Bouquot gave the strategic and technological modernization key momentum—we would like to thank him for that. Rouven Mohr is an excellent technical leader with a history at Audi and experience at Lamborghini. His appointment will bring new courage in innovation, sporty elegance, and finesse—or, put simply, more ‘Vorsprung durch Technik.’”

Audi CEO Gernot Döllner echoed that sentiment, emphasizing Mohr’s blend of technical expertise and execution. “Rouven Mohr combines technical excellence with a focus on products and proven execution strength. He will play a central role in further accelerating our innovation. At the same time, I would like to sincerely thank Geoffrey for his leadership and his important contribution to Audi’s technological evolution, wishing him continued success and all the best for his next professional chapter.”

Mohr will assume leadership of Audi’s Technical Development immediately while continuing in his role at Lamborghini until a successor is appointed. His return signals a renewed emphasis on engineering authority, design clarity, and the enduring promise of Vorsprung durch Technik—interpreted for a new era of electrified, connected luxury mobility.
