The Porsche 911 has entered new territory with more than 700 horsepower. The latest 992.2-generation 911 Turbo S doesn’t just adopt electrification—it uses it as a weapon. The result is breathtaking performance inside the familiar silhouette of the 911.
With a starting price of $272,650, this Turbo S is built for speed and long-distance dominance. Unlike the purist GT models, it blends electrified muscle with everyday usability, creating an Autobahn express that remains unmistakably Porsche.
At the heart of this machine is a hybrid powertrain. A lightweight 1.9 kWh high-voltage battery works within a 400V system. An electric motor integrates with the brand’s eight-speed PDK gearbox, sending torque to all four wheels. The outcome is explosive: 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and 0–200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, according to Porsche.
Despite the added technology, weight gain is modest at just 85 kilograms. Porsche engineers say the car feels more agile than before, and early numbers confirm it is faster than the outgoing Turbo S.
“The 911 Turbo S is the most complete and versatile form of driving a Porsche 911,” says Frank Moser, Vice President of the 911 and 718 model line, in a Porsche Newsroom interview. “We have made the new Turbo S more comfortable, more individual, and significantly faster than its predecessor.”
Styling changes remain subtle. The look mirrors the latest standard 911, but power is obvious in the details. A signature extendable rear wing, broad rear tires, and muscular stance underline its intent. Compared with flashier rivals, it’s more restrained, but no less serious.
The interior follows the same philosophy: refined and functional. New highlights include carbon-structured trim strips, neodymium accents, a perforated microfiber headliner, and “Turbonite” details across the cabin. Standard spec is a two-seat layout, though a Cabriolet version offers open-air thrills.
The Hybrid Porsche 911 Turbo S is more than the fastest 911 yet. It proves that electrification can sharpen performance rather than soften it. Agile, brutally quick, and capable in all weather, this is the latest chapter in Porsche’s relentless pursuit of speed.
