Koenigsegg isn’t a stranger to absurd power and aerodynamics, but the Sadar’s Spear is extreme even for them. It’s a track-focused hypercar being garnished with aerodynamics for the purpose of going as fast as possible. It’s a track car designed to take things to the next level. However, the name might have piqued your interest, and yes, it’s named after Jesko von Koenigsegg, father of Christian’s favorite race horse. Quite apt.

Back to the car, and it looks like a track racer, while it is hard to believe it is indeed a road car with the massive double-blade active rear wing being prepped for even more downforce, along with the riot of aero tweaks. The front-end looks as subtle as a sledgehammer with louvres, a new Gurney flap, and new air intakes. Weight has been ruthlessly stripped out with the inclusion of carbon fibre wheels with a special 7-spoke turbine design. Everything has also been overhauled too including adding even more power as if the Jesko needed it. Power has now climbed to a stratospheric 1603 bhp. Other upgrades include a wider track and special tires, plus bespoke suspension. The suspension now includes in-house Triplex dampers, while multi-layer carbon ceramic brakes are a solace in terms of shredding the incredible speeds that this car is capable of.

The interior is about the serious business of going fast and includes unique Sadar’s Spear racing seats with a 6-point harness, and the Koenigsegg light speed transmission can only be executed via the steering paddles. That said, despite the weight-saving regime, the car has the basic creature comforts.

Hence, it isn’t surprising that Sadar’s Spear has beaten the Jesko Attack by 1.1 seconds when testing at the Gotland Ring.

Koenigsegg will only build 30 units, and its  $5 million price tag hasn’t been a deterrent, as all cars have been sold to their top customers.
