The Lamborghini Huracán EVO RWD Spyder is a highly revolutionized love child of its predecessors Huracán LP610-4 Spyder and Huracán EVO. The Evo Syder was launched on its official website with the use of Augmented Reality to ensure the near-perfect experience of the supercar. Powered with the phenomenal 5.2 liters naturally aspirated v10 engine with 610 horsepower and 560 Newton meters of torque, this beast of a car takes only 3.5 seconds to reach 0 to 100 km/h. With a top speed of 324 km/h plus and 8500 RPM, the Huracán EVO Sypder gives a true Lamborghini experience with the hardware than the software. These robust features remind of the Italian supercar maker’s iconic designs like the Miura, Countach, Diablo, and Murcielago. But this is just where the fun begins! The Huracán EVO Sypder features a new front splitter, framed front air intakes, and a black glossy rear bumper that hides the v10 engine. Using the rear-wheel-drive allows it to pull the power down without smoking the rear tires and enjoy the drift. The absence of front drift-shafts makes it lighter (1509 kgs), adding on to the drifting experience.
Like other Lamborghini supercars, this car as well has three drive modes interchangeable via the Lamborghini’s ANIMA button: the traditional Strada (Street in Italian) provides stability and safety in all conditions by minimizing rear-wheel slippage, the Sports mode allowing the rear wheels to slide and skate during acceleration and with P-TCS (Performance Traction Control System) calibrated to suit the drift. And the Corsa mode (race mode) optimizes the car’s traction and agility when exiting a corner in high-performance conditions, maximizing dynamics and speed. The front/rear weight distribution of 40/60, with double-wishbone suspension with overlapped quadrilaterals and passive shock absorbers, and the ventilated and cross-drilled discs fitted to 19″ Kari rims to the iconic Pirelli P Zero tires provide additional grip. One can also add on the MagneRide electromagnetic damper control feature and ceramic brake plates fitted on 20” Kari rims.
The highlight of the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Sypder is the folding soft canvas roof, and the rear window going down at a push of a button (irrespective of the rood placement) is a perfect scenario to enjoy the orchestra of the internal combustion while the wind is disrupting your hairstyle. Very few cars are as technologically advanced as the Evo Spyder, the upcoming addition of Alexa would be a definite game-changer as you can now voice-control your car from asking to open the gates to calling the ambulance during a misfortune event.
The inside of the car also features a 19-inch wheel that is unarguably accurate and smooth. The supportive sport seats with upholstery available in leather and Alcantara create a premium racer mode feel while feeling secure. The taller Lamborghini fans might be disappointed at the cramped feeling. The Distinctive Q-citura trim features a diamond pattern as an add-on option. One could also opt for either the fully electric/heated seats or racing bucket seats with a carbon-fiber shell. The iconic feature of the interior is the giant HMI 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment console on the dashboard. A small detail is that every icon used the hexagon shape. The system features Bluetooth connectivity, navigation with traffic information, satellite radio, MP3 compatibility, and an internal hard-drive.
There are seven toggle buttons above the central screen that control various features like aisle movement, window panes, etc. Included out of the box is dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, the power-operated soft-top push-button start, parking sensors, and cruise control. For the racer fanatics, two cameras help you understand and access your performance to improve lap-time. The exposed carbon Forges composites only add on to the sporty vibe of the car. Though the cargo is a considerable small space of 3.5 cubic feet, carrying cargo is not what is the car is made for.
Comparing to its direct rivals, the Ferrari F8 Tributo and McLaren 720S Spider, Lamborghini wins in the superficial drama or securely enjoying the V10 whirlwind.
