Bentley never fails to create a flawless signature interior for its supercars, but what if you want matching interiors for your yacht as well? Taking up the bespoke request to design a custom interior for their 18-meter Contest 59 CS yacht from a customer from the Netherlands, Bentley Design Services have collaborated with premium Dutch yacht builder, Contest Yachts to replicate the interiors of the luxury grand tourer for an extraordinary yacht.
The Bentley Continental GT V8 is the world’s finest Grand Tourer, combining unparalleled levels of luxury with cutting-edge technology and performance. They are designed, engineered, and built in Great Britain. The combination of fine craftsmanship, using skills that have been handed down through generations, alongside engineering expertise and cutting-edge technology, is unique to UK luxury car brands such as Bentley. The Design Services have meticulously worked on the minute nuances of the elements in grand tourer to be perfectly fit in the interiors of the yacht.
Brett Boydell, Head of Bentley Design Collaborations at Bentley Motors, said: “This project was an opportunity for Bentley Design Services to showcase some of their many skills in a truly unique collaboration. Bentley cars embrace qualities of craftsmanship and styling that are only achieved at the highest level of nautical design.”
The sumptuous cabin complements the owner’s Continental GT V8 coupe with the ‘Hotspur’ red leather combined with contrasting Linen beige hide along with the signature Bentley diamond-in-diamond stitching. The bespoke nautical trim was created by craftspeople at Bentley Design Services, which specializes in creating customized solutions for the brand’s clients working side-by-side. The interior paneling in the ocean-going yacht also showcases Bentley’s signature diamond-in-diamond stitching. The interiors of the two luxurious machines feature indistinguishable materials throughout.
This unique quilting requires exactly 712 stitches per diamond and a high level of skill to produce on a specially commissioned machine, exclusive to Bentley Motors. Outside, the deep blue hull of the Contest yacht perfectly complements the Light Sapphire finish of the owner’s Continental GT V8 Coupe. The matching linen and Hotspur is completed with similar-looking light-colored wood all across its interior, matching the Continental GT V8’s wood veneer on the dash, door panels, and center console.
Arjen Conijn, CEO and Co-Owner of Contest Yachts, said: “Our family has been building premium class sailing and motor yachts for more than 60 years. We are well-known for our thorough approach to customization, which allows us to fulfill the expectations and preferences of every customer. This project is the ultimate example of this approach – working with Bentley to turn a customer’s dream into reality.” Matching its aesthetic to the Bentley grand tourer, it would definitely feel ethereal to be inside the Contest 59 CS and cruise the waters with the agility like its automobile twin!
