Now, it’s unveiled three-decade-old cellar-aged wines from the 2015 vintage, and the luxurious trinity of library releases includes Blanc de Blancs 2015, Rosé 2015, and Brut Reserve 2015, each showcasing the remarkable evolution of English wine, and the value of extended aging.

On the trio, Laura Rhys, Master Sommelier and Gusbourne’s Head of Wine Communication, Education, and Style, says, “It’s always a joy when a vintage is ready. Now, a decade on from their harvest year, these three wines are a wonderful showcase of mature English sparkling. Although the English wine industry is young, it’s exciting to explore the potential of cellar-aged vintage releases.”
Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2015
Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2015, a pale golden color in the glass with understated bubbles, Blanc de Blancs 2015 is elegant and complex after its extended time on lees and on cork, having been disgorged in November 2020. For Laura, “The nose is dominated by honey lemon, green apple, and poached pear with notes of butter popcorn and toasted brioche. The bold palate evokes ripe citrus, nectarine, and baked apple. A beautiful toasty, nutty character with hazelnuts and pecans, alongside a defined, salty mineral gives a memorable finish.”
Gusbourne Rose 2015
Gusbourne Rosé 2015, Rosé is Gusbourne’s most awarded product and the 2015 vintage expresses the same outstanding impact; a beautiful shade of pale, bronzed pink matched with delectable taste.; “With red fruits, orange peel, and dried rose, the Rosé 2015 is delicate on the nose. The palate is driven by gorgeous red fruits, with raspberry, cherry, and wild strawberry notes alongside baked ginger, toasted nuts, and orange oil.”
Gurbourne Brut Reserve 2015
Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2015, Expressing a richer golden color, this wine is multi-layered and generous on the palate with a variety of citrus and sweet notes. On this brut, Laura comments, “Alongside the fruity scents, there are also notes of pastry and nougat, balanced by red apple, cherry, and stone fruit. Having been disgorged in October 2018, and with its smoky, earthy notes and sweet spice, this wine shows beautiful autolytic notes.”
