The most awaited yachting event this year was without a doubt the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show. It is THE show that sets the tone for trends, where exhibitors must present their newest product or service and where all of the industry gather to exchange, network, and keep up with the latest news in the yachting industry.
It was incredible to see the port of Monaco once again decked out in lines of tents and meters of dashing yachts proudly displaying their masts and flags. The selection below was hard to do, but we hope it will give you a glimpse of the extraordinary display that took place in Port Hercule this year.
Shipyard: Nobiskrug presents Motor Yacht Artefact
Artefact was definitely the star of the show. With her 80 m length, her stunning architecture boasting her unique central window of 740 square meters of curved and expressive glasswork weighing almost 60 tons, made her the superyacht that everyone wanted to visit including HSH of Monaco Prince Albert.
Built by Nobiskrug shipyard, Artefact is a pioneer in the Superyacht world, bringing new ecological solutions to large vessels without taking away anything from her comfort.
She carries large solar panels, was build with a propulsion system that enables her to stay stable without dropping anchor, saving the seabed, a propeller that minimizes noise and vibration, she has her own water recycling system.
And it’s not surprising that she was elected winner of the Superyacht of the Year.
Design: Yacht Design and Innovation Hub
This is probably the one hub that was missing at the Monaco Yacht Show. Of course, architects have always had their dedicated area at the show, but this new yacht design hub is dedicated to innovation and the way the yachting industry is progressing, it’s great to discover some of these technologies and innovative solutions.
The pavilion was small but enabled 5 designers to present some of their work, with videos or models.
The dedicated space was also the host of some interesting mini-conferences where the exhibitors shared their achievements, designs, and other innovations challenges and systems.
Luxury: Only Watch
The Biennial charity auction is known to present unique pieces which following the Monaco Yacht Show will be first showcased at various luxurious venues in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, and Tokyo, they finish their tour in Geneva where the exhibition will end in an auction on November 6th.
All of the timepieces were presented at the show, all of them unique and offered for the research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
To name only one lot, the Artiya iconic watch & guitar was made with one of the world’s greatest guitarists John McLaughlin. The watch took over 110 hours to be crafted by hand by Blandenier. The lot is estimated between €33K to €47K, so a mere $39K to $56K.
Technology: Yacht Cloud
The GEST Service Call System by Yacht Cloud is a very handy and intuitive gadget. With the simple touch of a button, a guest can request a specific service.
