1. Technology Is Your Friend

Most people know how to use a smartphone or tablet. Head over to your app store and download some useful knowledge-learning apps, such as the Nerdish app. Here, you’ll find all sorts of excellent articles on your favorite subjects. The pieces are easy to read and full of well-researched and exciting information. Nerdish will have the right engaging content for you wherever your interests lie.

2. Try to Read All the Time

Some of you may balk at the idea of reading, but it’s one of the best ways to expand your mind and become smarter. You don’t even need to spend any money – you can sign up for a free library card and access thousands of books. Without a doubt, you’ll find all sorts of interesting titles on those shelves.

If you are more technology-based, you may want to invest in a Kindle or other type of eReader; e-books are often much cheaper than paper copies. Plus, they are better for the environment too.

3. Try Documentaries

If you are a major cinephile, you may prefer to watch documentaries. Every streaming service will have a wide selection of documentaries, some of which may have even won awards. So whether you are interested in political figures, historical events, or nature, there’ll be an incredible documentary out there for you.

Don’t have the time for a full documentary? There are many documentary-style TV shows or even YouTube videos that’ll help you become smarter.

4. Try the “One Thing a Day” Rule

If you struggle to commit to large books or feature-length documentaries, you can resolve to learn one new fact every day whenever a question intrigues you. Head over to Google and look for the answer. This should only take around five minutes, perfect if you don’t have lots of time.

For example, you may want to know, “what is the latest mammal in the world?” One quick search will tell you that the blue whale is the largest mammal ever to roam the planet. You’ll also probably pick up some cool additional trivia along the way (did you know a human can fit through a blue whale’s arteries and its heart is as big as a car? Fascinating!).

5. Podcasts Are Another Great Option

If you are too busy for documentaries or books, consider podcasts instead. There are thousands of podcasts across audio streaming platforms. Whether you want to be entertained by hard-to-believe true crime stories or learn more about social events, history, or philosophy, podcasts are a great way to digest information while you are on the go.

Bottom Line

While these five steps are a great starting point, you can expand your mind and become smarter in countless ways. Heck, you can even acquire new information by just conversing with your friends or family. Keep these steps in mind, and you’ll become a brainbox in no time at all.
