At the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival, Italian shipbuilding and Boatbuilding company Benetti announced three new products Diamond 145’, 4 BNow model and the Oasis 40M. Balanced between sport and relaxation, the Oasis 40M creates a distinctly informal relationship with the owner and the sea with a contemporary take on the use of indoor and outdoor spaces. The new vessel in Benetti’s Class product was created for the owner who wants to live his/her life at sea, a lifestyle focused on casual elegance.
Benetti partnered with UK-based firm RWD and New York design studio Bonetti/Kozerski to create an interior and exterior that revolves around an onboard lifestyle in which sporting activities alternate with periods of total relaxation. The yacht was designed for the owner who much prefers to, “explore and enjoy the places they’ve just reached on their yacht,” said Adrian Chisnell, Team Principal at RWD.
A pivotal design characteristic of the Oasis 40M is the fact that close contact with the water plays a foreground role, as is demonstrated by the spectacular beach area with infinity pool just steps from the sea. The casual-chic in style interiors which features light color leather and rosewood in light along with bright colorways continues the yacht’s seamless continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Furthermore, inside the high ceilings allow for extensive use of natural light and provides a unique layout of the onboard spaces.
On the Main Deck, there is a large owner’s suite with a spacious bathroom along with the kitchen and a huge day area – featuring a bar and seats that can be transformed into a dining room – with glass surfaces offering a panoramic view at any time of day. The Main Deck also features a yoga and wellness area and has direct access to the beach area, an outdoor terrace on the sea. The spacious area also has a sea view swimming pool covering more than six square meters and two balconies that look out over the water.
The Lower Deck or night area is the center of the yacht and features two double VIP cabins and two cabins with twin beds. The crew quarters are situated forward of this area, with accommodation for nine people.
Unique to the yacht is its pilot house which has been designed as another lounge with extensive glazed surfaces to further enjoy the views. Space also contains a living space and lounge area with sofas and armchairs, and a carefully arranged workstation, in which the helm console, an area for relaxation and the chart table form a single setting from which to enjoy the cruise from start to finish.
The 40.5m yacht with a fiberglass hull and superstructure has a cruising speed which is expected to be 14.5 knots, with a top speed of 15 knots and a range of about 4,000 nautical miles. The yacht will also have a 6.25m tender and two jet skis.
