British luxury eyewear brand Cutler and Gross and British rock ‘n’ roll jewellers, The Great Frog, have joined forces to launch an exclusive new eyewear collection this season.
Punk icon and friend of Cutler and Gross Debbie Harry leads the Gothic Realism campaign. The Blondie frontwoman spearheaded the New Wave movement and cemented her legacy with hits including ‘One Way or Another’ and ‘Heart of Glass’. Renowned for her eclectic punk aesthetic and distinctive beauty signatures, she pioneered the ‘70s and ‘80s style scene making grunge glamorous, the perfect frontwoman for the collaboration.
New York’s Chelsea Hotel, a living monument of pop culture history, formed the backdrop for the campaign, captured by Magnum lensman Bruce Gilden, whose raw flash-lit shots from the streets of New York have made him one of the most admired street photographers.
Expect six designs that combine over a century of craftsmanship, the frames are handcrafted in Cutler and Gross’s Italian atelier and punctuated with 925 Sterling Silver or 24K gold-plated emblems–details synonymous with The Great Frog. As for the color palette, it embraces classic hues with bursts of playful color, created by intricately stacking layers of pigmented acetate.
The Cutler and Gross X The Great Frog collaboration retails from $655.
