After two years of delays due to the Beirut port explosion and ongoing instability in Lebanon, Ralph Masri unveils Andromeda — a bold new jewelry collection named after the galaxy. The Beirut-born designer, now dividing his time between Lebanon and Barcelona, channels the vastness of space through a meticulous interplay of geometry, color, and light.
“While all my previous collections were inspired by either architecture or history, I wanted to look to nature and the universe for a change,” Ralph says. Inspired by a space documentary, the designer translated celestial imagery into a series of bold, gem-encrusted pieces that speak in his signature design language. “It just felt like a fun theme to work with.”
Andromeda features five core styles, each available in three gemstone combinations: diamonds paired with rubies, sapphires, or emeralds. Round brilliant-cut stones are set in pavé and basket settings, arranged to mirror the shimmer of distant constellations. “Diamonds emit an inimitable sparkle, like stars,” says the designer. “The hues of colored stones complement that perfectly.”
Ralph’s love for structure remains. Even as he draws from the organic vastness of the cosmos, his signature geometric style holds firm. “This collection is all about contrast — not just of color, but of positive and negative space,” he explains, referencing a standout ring designed to resemble a miniature galaxy.
Produced in his Lebanon-based workshop, Andromeda also represents quiet resilience. “As Lebanese, we are used to instability and always find ways to adapt,” he adds. “But after the 2024 nightmare, I just want to enjoy 2025 and grow at a steady rate.” The collection highlights the designer’s resolve to craft pieces that truly excite him, and Andromeda does exactly that.
