J&M Davidson first took shape in London in 1984, when photographer John Davidson and designer Monique Davidson set out to create belts that would endure in both craftsmanship and character. What began as a modest accessories line soon evolved into a house celebrated for impeccably made leather goods, each piece crafted in Italy or Spain and finished by hand with an artisan’s restraint.

To honor its 40th anniversary, the brand returns to where the story began. The inaugural Plaited Envelope Belt—introduced in 1984—became the muse for a capsule collection that revisits the house’s earliest codes. Its signature plaiting reappears with a modern, sculpted clarity, woven into three of J&M Davidson’s most recognizable silhouettes. Produced in Italy and Spain, the anniversary pieces maintain the elevated materials and meticulous finish that have long defined the brand.

This milestone also coincides with a new chapter: the opening of a flagship boutique in Burlington Arcade, the Mayfair landmark renowned for specialist artisans since the early 19th century. Designed by Milan-based studio Cotti and Trolese, the space embraces a serene, material-led aesthetic that allows the workmanship of the belts and bags to speak for itself. It’s a setting that feels distinctly British, impeccably refined, and perfectly suited to a brand stepping gracefully into its fifth decade.
