I am staying in The Cottage, which is an open-plan suite with a lounge, kitchenette, terrace, bedroom, and en-suite bathroom. Tonio’s artworks adorn the walls of Hemingway’s Eden Residence, and sculptures are proudly displayed all over the property.
Stepping out of my cottage into the cool afternoon air, the pitter-patter of raindrops starts falling on the ground and on the encircling trees. Undeterred by this slight weather change, I make my way to The Deck, a leisurely stroll up an incline.
The tranquil sound of water cascading into the man-made dam has a mesmerizing effect. At the edge of the pond, a Hadeda Ibis crouches down to take a sip of water. To his right, a Pied wagtail stands dwarfed by the wooden step leading to the dam.
Meals and drinks are served at The Deck, with a thoughtfully curated menu designed by Head Chef Marlon Hoarau. Once the sun has set, the area comes alive with laser lights, mimicking fireflies.
