The Fellows House Cambridge, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a luxury hotel that sits just north of the historic city center, and as the name suggests, it celebrates the rich heritage of its locale, as well as its famous Cambridge fellows.
An apartment-style hotel, here we see the merging of the classic with the contemporary through charming design nods that are accompanied by modern in-room technology and amenities. Guests here are offered comfortable and luxurious studio and one-bed apartments, with fully equipped kitchens; the hotel also houses an indoor pool, gym, sauna, and steam room — and for those who want to see the city like a local, guests can rent a bicycle to explore the nearby parks, eateries, and pubs. All of this comes together, making The Fellows House Cambridge ideal for both short and longer stays when you want to kick back and feel at home.
The location, which is only a 30-minute walk to the hustle and bustle of the cobbled center, sees popular attractions such as the historic Regent Street, University of Cambridge, and King’s College Chapel, and enjoys the quaint central location views by the River Cam. Camille Wiltshire-Skipper of The Fellows House Cambridge tells us more about this luxury hotel and its historic location.
What is the hotel’s USP?
The Fellows House is distinct from other properties in that it has a flexible approach to apartment-style living, which gives it the ability to be as comfortable for long-stay guests as it is for short-stay guests. These features include fully equipped kitchens in many of our rooms, an on-site laundry room available for long-stay guests, complimentary bicycle hire, pool, sauna, and steam room, and on-site parking. The Fellows House is one of the rare hotels with a Cambridge location that provides easy, stress-free parking including 14 parking spaces with EV chargers.
How would you define the guest experience?
Guests can expect a sophisticated stay that is deeply inspired by the historic city of Cambridge, and its famous Cambridge fellows. Nearby are stunning views of the River Cam, Jesus Green, and sights including The Fitzwilliam Museum and Kings College Chapel, which are just a short stroll or bike ride away. But hotel guests may find it hard to leave the hotel, thanks to the excellent dining and artisan cocktails offered at our Folio Bar & Kitchen. The Fellows House is also home to The Sage of Cambridge café, which is home to perfectly brewed coffee and delectable treats.
What are your favorite aspects of this hotel?
We have an amazing Pastry Chef who makes delicious pastries and sweet treats fresh daily, onsite here at the hotel. I also think that our 79 Parking spaces and 14 EV chargers are hard to beat in the city of Cambridge.
Who is your target market?
Business, leisure guests, and government officials. Long-stay wise – persons relocating, students, insurance companies, and groups.
Which is your favorite room and why?
My personal favorite would be Room 319 – The Newton Superior Studio. It provides the ideal blend of high-end features and homely comforts. It has a sofa bed for additional space, bedside books, and a well-equipped kitchen complete with hobs. The bathroom is also very spacious with a selection of White Company grooming products to help you get settled in.
What can you recommend in the local vicinity?
The Fitzwilliam Museum would be my pick, thanks to its fascinating exhibitions offered throughout the year. And no trip to Cambridge is complete without a punt along the River Cam, as it provides the very best views of the historic city, along the backs of the colleges.
