Boutique British car manufacturer Morgan is coming back to the US and its hand-built classic roadster will be on sale soon with a price tag of $84,995. Morgan builds a limited number of sports cars in the UK and its line-up comprises its classic to vintage-looking two-seater cars with its Plus Four being fit for sale here. It has been doing so since 1910 and its cars look like the perfect interpretation of a classic British roadster.

The Plus Four brings back the vintage British sports cars with tiny dimensions packed in a large engine with nothing else being bolted on for luxury. The new Plus Four would be sold via 12 Morgan dealers in the US in limited numbers maintaining its exclusivity. That said bringing in a car like this into the US is no mean feat but Morgan has gotten the car approved for sale. Slotted above the bonkers three-wheeler, the Morgan Plus Four looks unashamedly retro but has been sprinkled with some modern trinkets like LED headlamps plus a subtle diffuser at the back. Hand-made, the panels are crafted into the car by craftspeople and not robots it looks like it has been plucked from the yesteryears. That said, underneath the Plus Four uses an aluminum chassis and has a BMW 2.0-liter petrol engine which means thanks to the low weight, performance would surprise you. There is a 6-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic with the gear lever not far off from your standard BMW. US gets the automatic though enthusiasts would pine for the stick shift.  The car has a soft top roof but you would have guessed it and the cabin is old-school but fits the vibe with only the BMW gear-lever for the automatic being the odd one out.

Morgan Plus Four is a Hand-Built Slice of Classic Motoring Thrills

The Morgan Plus Four is a boutique roadster for those who want to immerse themselves in a time warp with its hand-made craftsmanship, classic design, and pure driving experience. It will appeal to a specific niche audience but numbers are not what this car is about anyway. For the money, you can have a complete and more practical sports car but for its raw, traditional back-to-basics appeal, the Morgan stands out and now it is back in the US market after a quarter of a century.
