Resident Elevates the New York City Dining Experience

New Yorkers love their restaurants, especially the fine dining establishments that allow for a full evening of culinary leisure. Reimagining such experiences during a time of COVID takes ingenuity and creativity, and Resident rises to the gastronomic challenge.

Known as a bespoke, ‘supper club’ style foodie experience, Resident takes underutilized, luxury real-estate throughout NYC and transforms sumptuous spaces into a luxe, gourmet settings hosted by Michelin-starred chefs. By taking empty penthouses, luxury apartments, or unused terraces or amenity spaces, Resident elevates the NYC dining experience (literally) by providing a more controlled, private environment. A recent relaunch of their reservation-only dinner events has enticed high caliber chefs from dynamic and diverse backgrounds such as Chef Eric Huang, currently the Sous Chef at three Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park, and Chef Ayaka Guido who honed her culinary skills at Little Park and one Michelin-starred The Musket Room.

Chef Huang grew up helping with his family’s Chinese restaurants on Long Island, however, he never truly explored cooking until he was a student at Northwestern University. After graduation, he decided to pursue a culinary career and earned positions at lauded eateries like Café Boulud and one Michelin-starred Gramercy Tavern. Chef Guido currently serves as the Chef de Cuisine of The Greens, following three years leading Jean-Georges Public Kitchen.

Resident, NYC dining experience

Unlike a traditional restaurant that typically focuses on one cuisine to shape the overall menu, ambiance, and experience within, Resident’s event structure welcomes this variety of chefs and their flavor palates. Chef Huang and Chef Guido, for instance, are able to explore various gastronomic delights and share their inspiration with guests between the five to seven-course meals. The evening’s menu also allows for a deeper dive into the world of wine with carefully selected pairings from top NYC sommeliers.

Thanks to its ‘pop-up’ style, attendees can participate in numerous Resident events and experience entirely different menus in a variety of unique locations. Events are limited-capacity and tickets are available for purchase online at www.meetresident.com. With the ability to change menus, pre-determine guest counts, and offer dynamic experiences, Resident provides a new path for fine dining exploration in a city that continues to define the genre.
