This April, Rome reclaims its place on the international concours stage as the inaugural Anantara Concorso Roma gathers seventy of the world’s most significant historic Italian automobiles in the Eternal City. Taking place from April 16 to 19, 2026, the event marks the first concours of this scale in Rome since 1960—an occasion that blends craftsmanship, heritage, and what organizers describe as la dolce vita delle automobili.

Set against the architectural grandeur of the capital and hosted by Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, the four-day gathering brings together rare road and racing machines spanning the twentieth century and beyond. The selection, arranged across sixteen classes, traces a deliberate arc through Italian automotive design—from pre-war Zagato-bodied Alfa Romeos to contemporary hypercars.

Among the highlights are a 1932 Maserati V4 Sport Spider Zagato, the 1955 Ferrari 375 MM Coupé Speciale Ghia, and a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Interim by Pinin Farina. Later icons, including the Ferrari Testarossa Spider and the Le Mans-winning Ferrari 499P, underscore the breadth of the field and its dialogue between heritage and modern performance.

Originally scheduled for 2025, the event was postponed following the passing of Pope Francis. In the intervening year, organizers expanded the program, strengthening its international reach and civic presence. The concours will open to the public over the weekend of April 18 and 19, with judging on Saturday and awards presented the following day.

Presiding over the jury is Adolfo Orsi, joined by an international panel of designers, historians, and collectors. Lorenzo Ramaciotti and Jean Todt will serve as honorary judges, lending further weight to the proceedings.

The choice of Rome is both symbolic and strategic. William E. Heinecke, founder and chairman of Minor International, describes the city as a natural setting for a concours dedicated to Italian automotive excellence, citing its long-standing relationship with design, culture, and motorsport.

Presented by UBS and organized by Anantara Hotels & Resorts, the event brings together a considered group of partners, including Richard Mille, RM Sotheby’s, Maserati, Gulfstream Aerospace, Sanlorenzo, American Express, Veuve Clicquot, Lavazza, Technogym, and Acqua di Parma. Together, they position the concours at the intersection of luxury travel, craftsmanship, and collecting culture.

The event also carries a civic dimension. In partnership with Roma Capitale and local organizations, it continues a charitable initiative launched during last year’s postponed edition. Funds raised in 2026 will support the creation of a new solidarity pantry for ACLI Rome, reinforcing a commitment to leaving a lasting imprint beyond the concours itself.

For collectors and enthusiasts, Anantara Concorso Roma represents more than a display of exceptional automobiles. It signals Rome’s return to the global concours calendar and offers a rare opportunity to encounter some of Italy’s most important machines within one of the world’s most evocative settings.

Day passes for the public weekend begin at €95. The concours centers on the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel in Piazza della Repubblica, with the principal public display held at Casina Valadier in Villa Borghese on April 18 and 19.
