High above Belgravia, on the tenth floor of The Emory, sits one of London’s most refined cigar destinations—The Emory Cigar Merchants. This exclusive lounge is part of the hotel’s private rooftop level. It is designed for those who value the craftsmanship of a fine cigar, the comfort of discreet luxury, and the beauty of panoramic city views.

A Rooftop Retreat with Elegant Details

The Emory is London’s first all-suite hotel and is known for its exclusivity. Its rooftop spaces, designed by Rémi Tessier, take refinement even further. Inside The Cigar Merchants, soft circular lighting and rich burl wood finishes recall the charm of a traditional cigar box. An advanced extraction system—one of only three in London—keeps the air crisp. Built into the floor and ceiling, it works silently without interrupting the calm setting.

A Humidor of Distinction

At the heart of the lounge is a humidor with nearly 200 cigars. The focus is on Cuban classics like Cohiba, Montecristo, and Partagás. There are also specialist producers such as Sancho Panza, Saint Luis Rey, and El Rey del Mundo. Guests can buy by the stick or by the box. For rare finds, the team can source highly sought-after boxes on request, adding a personal touch.

Treasures for Collectors

The collection includes the 1999 Millennium Reserve Jars, with Cohiba Pirámides, Cuaba Distinguidos, and Montecristo Robusto—each a collector’s prize. Other highlights include the San Cristóbal 1519 humidor, marking Havana’s 500th anniversary, and the Romeo y Julieta “Romeos” from the 2008 Antiguo Réplica series, limited to just 250 worldwide. Regional Editions for the UK and rare releases from Taiwan, Serbia, Lebanon, and Germany offer global variety for the curious aficionado.

Guided by Expertise

The selection is curated by Blue Curran, one of the UK’s few Masters of Havana Cigars and winner of the 2024 Cigar Sommelier of the Year. Curran and his team offer expert yet approachable guidance. Whether you are a seasoned collector or new to cigars, you will receive personal attention and thoughtful recommendations.

Pairing Cigars and Spirits

Next door, The Emory Rooftop Bar serves rare and expressive spirits. The focus is on rum, tequila, cognac, and whiskey, including a complete vertical of Van Winkle bourbon and rye aged from 10 to 23 years. These pairings are crafted to elevate the cigar ritual and create an unhurried, memorable experience.

A Private Escape in the Sky

Beautifully designed and completely private, The Emory Cigar Merchants blends craftsmanship, comfort, and connoisseurship. It is a sanctuary high above the city yet rooted in tradition.
