What CBD Oil Strength is Best for You?

As with most things, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to every problem. Each person’s body is different, from their needs to their biological chemistry. Your choice of CBD oil strength should fit those differences accordingly.

Which CBD oil strengths are your best choices?

Ratios versus Strength

Not to be confused with the strength of the CBD oil itself, ratios are about the balance of CBD and THC., such as 1:0.

When you look for strong CBD oil, they’ll have a higher percentage of CBD to every milliliter of the product. For example, Charlotte’s Web provides a Full Strength CBD Oil at 6.65mg CBD per mL and an Extra Strength CBD Oil at 16.65mg CBD per mL.

A 1:0 ratio is nearly devoid of THC, and the minuscule parts that remain are too little to be effective. This is preferable to those who are interested in no psychotropic properties, meaning you can stay sharp while gaining the benefits.

If, for whatever reason, you’re interested in guaranteeing what you take contains the least amount of THC, try Charlotte’s Web CBD Isolate, which promises “no more than 13 parts per million tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).”

Taking the Edge Off Your Stress

CBD oils help support the management of your everyday stress on an as-needed basis, such as a looming deadline at work or test-taking stress at school. It can help you go through your day without unneeded anxiety, while still keeping your mind focused and sharp.

Start with the basic full strength of 6.65mg of CBD per serving to get a sense of how you react to CBD oil and how sensitive or resistant you may be. It’s always safer to start low and build up.

For just taking the edge off, you’ll really want to find that sweet spot of taking just enough to help you. While this is good advice in general when starting with a CBD oil supplement, you may be surprised at how effective CBD oil is supporting the management of everyday stress.

Soothing Physical Aches and Pains

Pains you may encounter on any given day, like post-workout soreness, a mild headache or even neck tension, can be eased with a bit of CBD oil.

CBD oil doesn’t reduce discomfort by flooding the reward center of the brain to mask it. As such, it avoids the “high” feeling that can make people woozy, tired, or out of focus that some traditional pain medications are known to produce. Instead, CBD can work to target and soothe the inflammation that is causing temporary pain or discomfort.

Topicals

CBD oil, when added to a lotion, cream, balm, or even used by itself, can be used to moisten the skin and or support recovery from temporary muscle soreness. Because topicals are used on top of the skin, they’re not the best for dealing with the discomforts of stress as it won’t enter the bloodstream, and if it does, it’s at a fraction of what you’d get from consuming it.

Knowing Your Tastes

Do you already have an idea of how you plan to take CBD oil? Are you fine taking the oil by holding it under your tongue for a minute or do you anticipate needing to add it to a coffee or tea to mask the taste a bit?

Depending on your preferred method of delivery, the mint chocolate flavor from Charlotte’s Web may be preferable for people that like a sweeter taste or plan to add it to coffee.

For others that enjoy something a little more savory, the olive oil flavor is a great fit for taking by itself drizzling over your morning avocado toast.

But What’s Your Strength?

If it’s your first time using CBD oil, it can be hard to sort through everything and really decide what strength you need. It’s a game of trial and error. When in doubt, start small. Choose a low strength of CBD oil, and if you find that it’s not enough, take a serving up to two times a day. If you think you need a higher strength works, buy the next tier up when you run out.
