How to Manage Your Business Tasks from a Car

The stress of the upcoming deadlines grows to the highest level when you find yourself in a situation where you are forced to sit and do nothing, like when you are stuck in traffic. Whether it be that or you are simply going on a long trip in your car, you would feel much less tense and unproductive if you succeed in finishing some tasks while being in between destinations. Here are some tips on how to transform your car into a temporary makeshift office.

Wear Headphones

One of the easiest tasks to do while in a car is to make calls with your employees or clients. For example, if you are in a taxi, it would be rude and disturbing to the driver if you just put your colleague on the speaker. Headphones, especially wireless ones, come in handy if you want to keep your call private. Also, they free up your hand, so you can do other things while managing your calls. Multitasking is sometimes the only way we can finish all our tasks on time.

Use Bluetooth Speakers

Bluetooth speakers can be used for similar purposes as headphones. However, they are certainly more handy as you connect your device with Bluetooth, and you can put it somewhere out of the way, as it has no wiring and can usually still be connected at a distance of about 32 feet. Most of them have microphones built-in, so you can still have your calls on the go. They are usually small enough to fit in the cupholder. You could manage your calls or play some relaxing music while dealing with another task.

Bring Portable Wireless Routers

Most of the business tasks nowadays can’t be done without the internet. You could always use your mobile hotspot, but it is not always reliable, as you could pass through some low signal areas on your drive. You don’t want the additional stress of losing your progress halfway through. There are portable WiFi routers that can be bought at a low price, which usually have a better signal than your regular hotspot. Instead of being connected to the telephone or TV cable, portable WiFi routers catch the signal with SIM cards placed inside of them.

Charge Your Devices Beforehand

This is a must-do before you go on any trip, especially a long one. If you want to manage your business on the go, you need to be available at all times. Power outlets can be hard to come by, so try never to start a journey with a half-empty phone or laptop battery. Try to use it as little as possible after you charge it. Please don’t rely on power outlets during your trip, as they are pretty hard to come by. If you forget to do it often, you should consider investing in…

Power Banks

Power banks can be about the same size as Bluetooth speakers, so you will be able to keep them by your side at all times and carry them everywhere. They can certainly be lifesavers, especially when you have many emails to answer, calls to take, your battery is at the point of dying, and you are stuck in the backseat, stressing out. With a lower price power bank, you can probably pull off 3 to 4 charges.

Install Lap Desk

Lap desks installed in the car can be useful for multiple things, including a surface for holding a laptop. If somebody is driving you, you can easily pull out your laptop and finish some of the more daunting business tasks with a lap desk. They are pretty lightweight, and they can easily be taken off and then installed again. Having a laptop with you can be pretty useful if you want to be productive and manage your business on the road, and with a lap desk, you can do it comfortably.

Watch Your Posture

This advice has nothing to do with productivity, but it will certainly help you in the long run. Cars are uncomfortable by nature, and it would do you good to adjust your surroundings so that you can at least sit correctly. Take notice of your posture now and again. Without back pain, you will focus better and avoid some bigger problems when you get older. That way, you will be able to run your business even when you get older.

If you are going on a long car trip and you need to finish up some business, it will do you good to prepare everything needed in advance. Stay safe and don’t multitask while driving because it will take off your focus from the road. Even making phone calls should be avoided, and also it is illegal in most places.
