This season Fusalp has entered the cooler months with an all-inclusive offering that merges exceptional ski and urban wear with technicity and performance for which it is known.
Reaffirming its unique position at the intersection of technicality and style, Fusalp draws inspiration from the playful energy of the 1970s and the Maison’s heritage from that era, Mathilde Lacoste’s Fall-Winter 2024 Collection offers a reinterpretation in vibrant hues. Influenced by a retro-futuristic vision, embedded in the brand’s DNA, and by the work of architect and urban planner Charlotte Perriand, who sought simplicity, essentials, and efficiency, in harmony with the mountain environment.
Ski Tech
Creative Director, Mathilde Lacoste has envisioned skiwear that combines technical expertise, playfulness, luxury, and plenty of glamour. Illuminating the piste this season, an array of graphic color-blocking for women and a vibrant palette for Men – pieces are sleek in design and are crafted from highly protective, durable, water-repellent, and breathable materials, inspired by the practice of athletes — particularly those from GB Snowsport.
The retro-futuristic charm continues in 70s ski styles—flattering ensembles for women, mixing short, snug jackets with high-waisted pants or jumpsuits. The Maison’s iconic smock technique is also applied in a linear baguette iteration and reappears as the printed diamond motif. Alluding to the material from which skis are crafted, a carbon fiber-inspired patterned jacquard shimmers subtly, while faux fur and shearling provide visual richness and an extra level of comfort, both as exterior trims and strategically placed linings.
Of course, the iconic Fusalp smock appears in a baguette version offering a diamond print pattern, while faux fur adds an alpine richness.
This season, jackets are also equipped with RECCO technology for avalanche localization. Waterproofing and thermal regulation are ensured through technical features like snow guards, heat-sealed seams, and flexible underarm openings. Aerodynamic and ergonomic, each piece is designed to help the body reach its maximum potential.
Capsule Ultra Luxury Ski
Here, expect ‘couture’ colorways of oxygen and latte shades that sit alongside chic black and white. There are also graphic lines paired with delicate colors, and for the ready-to-wear edit, there’s a blend of vibrant greens, racing red, and orange, offset by neutrals. The result? A thoroughly dynamic palette.
Ready-to-Wear & Versatility
The season’s ready-to-wear collection builds on the motocross undertones found in skiwear, appropriated here in body-hugging knits, bands of bold color, and topstitched ribbing. The retro-futurist aesthetic is heightened with ring zipper pulls, tabs, and decorative press fasteners. A belted coat for women features oversized diamond quilted motifs, replicated in microformat on miniskirts that join the versatile offering of leggings, fitted or flared pants, and A-line long pleated skirts – each to suit a variety of body types.
The expanded men’s selection revisits the Maison’s tailoring heritage and introduces an all-new techno-fabric in the form of knit suits and tracksuits, as well as Italian recycled compact wool and double-face wool with added water-repellent treatment.
Refined outerwear in this category includes pieces with alternating visible external padding and invisible internal padding, along with a three-in-one Atila Jacket boasting a more generously sized, contemporary silhouette for highly adaptable and utilitarian thermal control. From the slopes to après-ski and beyond, the men’s offering is defined by the intelligent blend of performance technology and carefully considered functional details, ranging from magnetic fasteners to side-access patch pockets.
Bridging the worlds of mountain and metropolis, easy layering and modularity are essential qualities in a modern lifestyle, with hybrid padded jackets slipping over sleek knitwear in a mix of textured cables and ribs.
Accessories
Accompanying the ready-to-wear collection is a new edit of accessories including backpacks in three colorways, pouches, drawstring bags, and cardholders crafted from 3D diamond-patterned nylon and leather – each easily attachable to clothing, backpacks, or each other. Wool and Silka Carbon visored caps, knitted beanies, Declic utility belts, and Lake View sunglasses provide finishing touches to the collection.
Drawing inspiration from high-performance pieces, the Fall-Winter 2024 collection continues its legacy of exceptional designs while remaining firmly grounded in the present with an eye on the future. Achieved through innovative high-tech materials and a focus on versatility, each piece is conceived to adapt to its surroundings from mountain life and sporty days to après-ski.
The collection caters to winter sports enthusiasts as well as city dwellers, offering freedom of movement, protection against the elements, and the luxurious signature of the Maison.
