What does pampering mean? As in “The ultimate pampering experience”
What is the best way to pamper yourself or someone else? Dinner at a Michelin 3 Star restaurant? A new yacht? More jewelry? … or the very best skin money can buy? The true expression of premium skincare savoir-faire, offering “ultimate refined beauty” and exclusive Alpine alchemical creations that will “transport you (and other discerning clientele) to the soaring peaks of beauty experience.”
Created as the “Romanée-Conti” (the celebrated Burgundy wine grand cru) of cosmetics in 2001, l’Elixir des Glaciers is the embodiment of everyday hyper-luxury.
In 1905, Dr. Henry-Auguste Widmer founded the Valmont Clinic on the Swiss Riviera. His hydrotherapy treatments attracted the likes of Ingrid Bergman and Coco Chanel.
By 1985, it was the first Swiss clinic specializing in cosmetic surgery, recognized as a pioneer in genetics and cellular cosmetics thanks to the work of Dr. Nadja Avalle with active molecules like native collagen. Unmistakeably packaged in opaline jars with green accents, the products resembled traditional surgical scrubs.
Research into the nucleus of the cells extracted two molecules, DNA and RNA. These biomimetic active molecules were found to guarantee “outstanding dermal affinity for incomparable effectiveness” when combined with mineral-rich glacier spring water, plants cultivated in the company’s phyto-alpine garden, and honey, propolis, and Royal jelly. Valmont has an “Essence Of Bees Collection”.
Glaciers have been working with Swiss beekeeper Stephanie Vuadens founder of “Arches des Abeilles” since 2017 to create 20 Geneva-based hives.
La Maison Valmont’s latest launches include the 351vV-firm Densifying Face Cream (including Immortelle flower for “optimal cohesion of dermis components” and Instant Radiance Replenishing Mask (£233).
Valmont also now plays a crucial role in pre and post-aesthetic medical procedures. Its partner, Medispas, provides professional facilities offering cutting-edge beauty enhancement techniques. As well as spas, it has boutiques worldwide from Paris’s Le Meuric Hotel to China, Tokyo, Madrid, and Lausanne to the Carlyle Hotel at 35 E 76th Street, New York.
Valmont also has three EDP collections by Sophie Vann Guillon. Each bottle (priced at £451) features a Murano mask hand-blown by a master and the cap trimmed with saddle-stiched or full-grained Italian leather.
Storie Veneziane comprises Rosso 1 floral oriental, Blu Cobalto 1 oriental gourmand, Gaggia Medoi 1 Amber, Verde Erba floral green, Mica D’Or 1 oriental gourmand, and Zafferano 1 spicy floriental.
The £230 Collezione Privata comprises Just Bloom floral musk, Private Mind floral leather, the chypre leather Lady Code, and floral gourmand Jazzy Twist.
The £136 Palazzo Nobile range includes Cutie Pear, Fizzy Mint, and Bright Poppy.
Valmont’s multiple-usage Happy Mask and Prime Renewing Pack has just celebrated four decades as an anti-stress and anti-wrinkle cream mask.
CEO Sophie Vann Guillon studied marketing in California, before working for Parfums Balmain, Oscar de la Renta, and Yves Saint Laurent Perfume. She joined the Valmont Group in 2000. She says: “After forty years, pure Prime Renewing Pack is still the skin’s best friend. We believe that beauty is a science of excellence, a rigorously balanced combination of cosmetic savoir-faire and the latest medical advances to bolster the skin’s regeneration processes.”
