Casa La Playa is the exotic jungle hideaway of a woman who resides in Paris. Cascading down a small hill onto an incredible stretch of private beach, Casa La Playa is indeed an extravagant and elegant home.
Coming to this isolated area on Mexico’s Pacific about 25 years ago, when the access was by dirt road, and there were no telephones, the owner decided to commissioned Robert Couturier to design this house. The interiors are all pure white with huge windows to capture the surrounding vibrant tropical colors. The round rooms offer panoramic views of the ocean, mountains, and gardens. Nothing rustic in this jungle abode. It is an interesting juxtaposition, the sleek, sophisticated interiors against the unspoiled wild setting. One can see dolphins and whales offshore; sea birds glide overhead while deer, coatimundi, and even wild boar inhabit the surrounding jungles.
