Speed is addictive along with the fact that we can never have enough of it and hence, it is no surprise that a new genre of hypercars is pushing the envelope in terms of raw performance. The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster for example has a top speed that is way beyond the conventional realms of most public roads. The fact is, that you need a closed runaway or a private track to go anywhere near its dynamic limits. However, hypercars are not about practicality or fact that whether people really use them or not as these are collectible art forms that stretch engineering boundaries. 

Hennessey has always been about performance and its Venom F5 is a pure-speed machine. The Roadster version uncorks the sensation of speed further with no barrier between you and that loud V8. The venom F5 Roadster in true Hennessey fashion uses a V8 which has been coaxed to deliver a simply surreal 1817 bhp. It is a 6.6-liter turbocharged unit that sends power to the rear wheels through a robust automated single-clutch gearbox. With a dry weight of under 3,100 pounds, the Venom F5 Roadster has a frighteningly high top speed of more than 300 mph.

This mid-mounted carbon-fiber Rocketship has what it takes to be the fastest open-top two-seater and claim a new record from its predecessor-the 265.6 mph Hennessey Venom GT Spyder.

Lightness happens to be the mantra for the Venom F5 Roadster with a removable carbon fiber roof panel weighing only 18 kg. In roadster form, we also think it looks even more striking than its coupe sibling with a smooth-flowing shape. The Roadster also does not need many changes in terms of engineering over the coupe since it was a part of the design process from day one.

Of course, with a car like this, customers can personalize it to a greater degree with the exterior color of their choice to trim and materials to one’s liking. Lucky buyers can also spec the carbon fiber chassis and body panels being exposed.  

The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster will be manufactured in Texas and the chances of seeing one in the flesh would be rare as only 30 units would be made- albeit more than the coupe.

Roadster production begins in late 2022 and with each car being priced at $3 million plus, it is the ultimate automotive thrill ride unlike any other.
