Hennessey is known for its outrageous hypercars and even more ludicrous price tags. However, its latest project outguns them all in terms of its ambition in being the most extreme EV in the world. Called “Project Deep Space“, it is the world’s first six-wheel-drive Hyper-GT. “Project Deep Space” also follows the production of the Venom F5 hypercar but takes a different approach with its electric propulsion. It will get no less than six electric propulsion motors and would be six-wheel drive. The price tag also matches with the car as it would be $3 million USD onwards. The brief of this project is to create a unique, ultra-luxurious, grand tourer that can transport four adults in absolute comfort along with four sets of golf clubs, plus luggage.
“Hennessey has spent more than 30 years building some of the fastest and most exciting vehicles in the world,” explains company CEO & founder, John Hennessey. “This mantra will continue for our next 30 years by introducing the world’s first fully electrified, six-wheel-drive hyper GT. We believe that ‘Deep Space’, with six electric motors combined with six driven wheels, could be the world’s quickest accelerating four-seater from zero to 200 mph!”
The interior would also be lavishly decked out with diamond-shaped seating positions and will have the driver sitting in the center. The fourth passenger positioned directly behind the driver, will occupy the world’s first VVIP (Very Very Important Person) lie-flat automotive seat – bringing private-jet-class luxury to the Hyper-GT world.
“In Project Deep Space, we’ve merged the essence of early-twentieth-century grand tourers with an otherworldly hyper GT form that leaves no doubt about its capability and intent,” says Hennessey Director of Design, Nathan Malinick. “Integrating many industry firsts, our next all-new model turns the EV ‘hypercar’ concept on its head while exhibiting our ‘art of reduction’ design philosophy. By combining Hennessey’s passion for performance with the pinnacle of automotive luxury, we will offer our customers the best of both worlds with a central driving position, ample space for passengers, room for luggage, and best in class performance. The result of our advanced development program will be a car like no other.”
The new electric Hyper-GT would be made starting from 2026 at the Hennessey Special Vehicles production facility in Sealy, Texas while its production is capped at 105 units. We have to say, it looks unlike anything else and combines private jet luxury along with seamless electric performance.
