De Beers Jewellers unveiled its latest high jewelry collection – The Alchemist of Light, in Paris this January and introduced it in the United States at a private cocktail party and dinner at the beautiful St. Regis Bal Harbour last weekend. Miami is, of course, a city blessed with abundant sunshine, making it a natural choice for the occasion. Céline Assimon, CEO of De Beers Jewellers agrees, “We have always loved the energy and vibrancy of Miami. The extraordinary sunlight you experience here made it the perfect choice for our U.S. debut.” Following this highly successful event, the collection is headed out on a global tour following the Awards Season.
The Collection and Its Chapters
Alchemists blend natural materials together and when the practice is done expertly, natural elements are transformed into magic. De Beers has taken diamonds to the next level with the seven-set Alchemist of Light collection. The first chapter of the release is Atomique Light Rays, while the highly anticipated second chapter reveal is scheduled to be unveiled at Paris Couture Week in July 2022.
Atomique
Atomique is a pure white diamonds one-of-a-kind set. The seven pieces are designed with modernity in mind – geometric patterns and abstract motifs. Its monochromatic landscape (white diamonds set in 18k white gold) ensures the clarity and prismatic makeup reflect dazzling light. Of note, the dramatic Atomomique Collar Necklace (18.57 carats total) is made up of over 1,900 diamonds in a unique contemporary bombé profile.
Light Rays
While the second chapter, Light Rays, is also a contemporary story, it is comprised of nine pieces with striking differences from Atomique. Light Rays is a more earth-toned collection reminiscent of mountain sunsets and glowing early morning sunrises on winter days. White diamonds are contrasted with strong black rhodium-plated gold and distinctive shades of titanium layer the pieces to create depth in each piece. The Light Rays Collar Necklace has an illuminating feature – a 4.22 radiant-cut diamond intensified by anodized titanium metal rays and tapering white diamonds. For a more minimalist style, wearers can simply detach the striking black collar – two exceptional looks from one impeccable piece.
Location
De Beers has 30 stores globally; three cities in the United States – Houston, New York, and Miami. Miami has two locations, one in the exclusive St. Regis Hotel Bal Harbour and one in the Bal Harbour Shopping area.
