Sustainability, ethical practices, and transparency are gaining the front seat in the fashion world. Thus, a wave of young, innovative fashion brands aims to provide the best of fashion without costing the Earth or its inhabitants. ARRA is one such conscious brand, founded by Christine Arra, previously with Ralph Lauren and Donna Karen. During her time at the big labels, she recognized the need for and importance of ecologically friendly materials and ethical business practices; thus, ARRA was born.
ARRA is a capsule wardrobe built around this ethos that strives to add critical pieces for women to layer or complete an outfit. “Our styles are designed to be effortless. Garments you don’t have to think about when you put them on! They can be worn day to evening depending on how you style them. They are meant to be worn for all seasons and are made with quality textiles that are timeless.”, says Christine Arra, founder, and designer at ARRA.
Nature, its organic lines, shapes, and beauty have been a significant influence over the designs, inspiration, and silhouette from the brand, and the luxurious fabrics they use. Being environmental-friendly is in the ethos of the brand. “We like to use certified sustainable textiles so that we know how the fabrics are made and what they are made of. Currently, we like to use organic cotton and a certified Lenzing fabric derived from trees. We searched long and hard to find the perfect fabrics because we wanted to use the highest quality, we could find at our price point. Our customers love not only our design details, but the exceptional quality of fabrics as well.”, explains the designer.
ARRA is for people who want to make a difference in the world. The capsule collection is the perfect wardrobe for everyday wear. With subtle chic style and an excellent conscious, ARRA creates everyday wearables that offer fantastic versatility, style, and durability. The brand produces all its garments locally in New York with sustainable materials. The brand currently uses about 95% of packaging made from recycled and recyclable materials, printed with eco-friendly algae ink which can be repurposed and reused.
While being in the sustainability space, the brand also aims to be ever-evolving in its designs, inspirations, and even fabrics, labels, and packaging. The company is researching sustainable yarns and manufacturing to add sweaters to their capsule collection. Apart from that, the brand is also invested in another initiative. “As part of our responsible practice’s mission, we have a goal of giving back to One Tree Planted. For every garment purchased, we donate two trees. We’re excited and honored by the continued support of customers in helping us continue to meet this goal.”, tells the designer.
Christine also told us about her favorite garment from the capsule and how she likes to style it. “The last few months, I’ve been wearing our Slack pants everywhere…To meetings in the city, meeting friends for coffee, or just running everyday errands. They are so easy to style! I wear them with heels, booties, or even sneakers…with a sweater, a crisp white blouse, or our Geo Top! They are extremely comfortable, versatile, and stylish!”
ARRA is available on its website and is currently only shipping within the US.
