In her latest collection for COUTURE, Tini Courtney of HOWL dives headfirst into color. Known for her elemental approach to fine jewelry, Courtney now charts a bolder, more expressive path, exploring saturated tones and unexpected gemstone combinations that channel both instinct and artistry. The Los Angeles–based designer explores a more “adventurous palette than ever before,” and introduces an expanded chromatic vocabulary, with striking pairings like mandarin garnet and teal sapphire, violet spinel and rhodolite stones she describes as shaping not just the visual rhythm but the “emotional tone of the pieces.”
A defining trip to Kenya and time spent with the Samburu tribe provided Tini with the creative spark. “It’s a tribute to the journey,” she says of the collection, which filters ancestral adornment through a modern, sculptural lens. The pieces, crafted entirely in Los Angeles, evoke the energy of place and memory, anchored by a standout Venetian glass and rhodolite pendant. Courtney also introduces hinged settings this season — a nod to vintage craftsmanship reimagined with contemporary elegance — creating wearable statements. And while color takes center stage, a diamond suite, particularly the necklace, offers a moment of iconic restraint in a collection otherwise crafted to dazzle.
For Tini, creativity is always rooted in travel and cultural immersion. “There’s something about experiencing a place’s roots through its colors, textiles, food, and architecture that leaves a lasting imprint,” she says. With this collection, that imprint is translated into jewelry that feels at once soulful and striking — an offering of new stories, culture, and connection.
