Three Californian sisters have discovered that plums are the panaceas of all panaceas. Inside and out. They are excellent for heart health, cholesterol management, and blood sugar control, bone health, and improved digestion. “A plum is a nutrition powerhouse,” says Jacqueline Taylor, who entered UCLA as a Pre-Med Biopsychology major for Dermatology. She is also a graduate of Living Light Culinary Institute and has worked in Venture Capital.
“Dried plums have bioactive compounds that can potentially fight off obesity-related diabetes and cardiovascular disease,” adds Allison Taylor, who studied Communications and Sociology at the University of Southern California and the Parsons New School of Design in New York.
“Plums possess phenolic compounds that promote good health. They also represent only around 100 calories per serve”. Comments their sister, Elaine: “Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil is a patent-pending blend of plum varietals from our 100-year-old family farm, which is the world’s largest grower and producer of organic plums. Morning and night, apply a few drops to cleansed skin, hair, or nails. Additionally, mix a drop with your favorite face cream, SPF, foundation, or body lotion to enhance its benefits. Our oil is safe for all skin types. It’s Dermatologist Tested, Clinically Approved, Hypoallergenic, and Skin Reaction Tested. It’s also non-comedogenic, PETA certified, vegan, and gluten-free.”
Elaine graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Business Administration – International Business. While at USF, she studied abroad in Beijing, China, where she applied her Mandarin language studies. After college, Elaine joined the international sales, operations, and client relations division of her family’s food products business. Elaine then joined VC-backed Juicero and later Halo Top Creamery.
In 2017, the Taylor sisters founded Le Prunier, an organic beauty line based on The Power of Plum™. The sisters built Le Prunier from an ancestral legacy that began in 1916 with their great-grandfather, who farmed the rich soils of Sutter County, Northern California. Their grandparents were peach farmers.
In 2021, Le Prunier (French for plum) launched Plumscreen®, offering broad-spectrum sun protection with the skincare benefits of Le Prunier’s cult-favorite Plum Beauty Oil. Explains Jacqueline: “Antioxidant-rich Plum Superfruit Complex® shelters skin and protects collagen from pollution while defending against environmental stressors. Crafted with hydrating Zonaria Tournefortii Extract that helps protect against future wrinkles while moisturizing skin, the silky sheer, Non-Nano Zinc Oxide formula means zero white residue and helps protect coral reefs!”
In 2023, the Taylor sisters launched Plumbody™ featuring its patented ingredient, Midnight Muir®, inspired by the Muir Beauty plum varietal from the family orchards. It has quickly become a go-to “IT” beauty product with increasing numbers around the world following its cosmetic rule of plum.
